Sorry, I'm not Andy but you should not do what your DAN is suggesting.

He did well on the on days because DMSA was removing metals. Behaviors do get

worse on off days because the metals are building back up in the blood stream,

so you do another round next week and so on and so forth. You will see this ebb

and flow in symptoms in the beginning of chelation. Eventually, with enough

rounds he will no longer slip back off rounds. Also, are you treating yeast

because that will cause silliness, fogginess and definitely defiance.

I've done 82 rounds on my son, going on round 83 tomorrow and the NUMBER one

cause of symptoms I have found is yeast, either on round or post round. But it

was a normal progression of chelation for him to relapse back as we neared time

for the next round. Same thing happens to me and my daughter in between rounds.

Some rounds he was great on round, terrible off. Others he was terrible on and

great off. Now he's great off and on!

By " succinic " acid if you are referring to the dimercapto-succinic acid, it's

part of the DMSA chelator, you can't give that every day. Apparently your DAN

does not understand what DMSA is or how it works, or that you can't take it

every day. To the best of my knowledge you cannot get " succinic acid " and give

it to him......since it's not an " ingredient " in the dmsa but an actual

molecular part of dmsa. So it's not that succinic acid is giving him more

energy....it's that you were pulling out the crap that is making him sick,

metals.

After you finish a round, some of the metals stores will be released into the

blood until the next round. You're actually getting an ebb and flow of metal

levels with and in between chelation until finally there aren't any to take out

anymore. This up and down of levels is why you see " toxic symptoms " again

between rounds.

Is that making sense? So in no way can you do what this doctors suggested. You

simply can't keep him on DMSA all the time.....

the chelation days, he seems very with it, more focused. On the off days his

behaviors get worse than they were before chelation. Silly, unfocused, defiancy

at school.

ingredient in the DMSA, Succinic Acid, had a good effect on him and that maybe

we should continue it during the off days. He mentioned that Succinic Acid has

a biochemical reaction on the Krebs Cycle and it could cause more energy. I

figured you would know if anyone did.

Actually succinic acid is sold as a supplement in several web stores.

I have some but have not used it...it is used for yeast but wasn't sure how to

use it safely. Actually have been told that it helps with the aldehyde issues

that FAS kiddos have...which my youngest are.

I still wouldn't use it without knowing more about it, since we have perfectly

good things to kill yeast with that we know are ok.

And hopefully, Andy will clarify on this at some point.

Kirkman Labs now sells Succinic acid instead of the DMSA. You need a

prescription.
