Hi ,

Sorry for the confusion. That is not what I was meant to convey in this

case, although it does bring up some questions that I have pondered while I

was standing in front of the chicken eggs at Whole Foods--are grain-fed eggs

and meat okay for celiacs and the gluten-intolerant? Do we know how much

grain is absorbed by our meat sources? Wonder if anyone has studied or

asked those same questions? I haven't put much effort into researching it

myself past scratching my head while picking my family's eggs out of the

case at WFs :)

As far as the bacon goes, it is the preservatives that cause a reaction

here. We found that some of the brands we were using had a corn-derivative

(lactic acid) and after consumption, one of my daughters was going bonkers!

And a couple of brands had milk and soy-derived preservatives that caused

her to react, as well. Hormel Natural Bacon was by far the WORST!

Applegate Farms uncured bacon seems okay here...but we are having some

residual vocal tics here so I guess the jury is still out! Keep me posted

on what you find out.

Best to you,

~Robin

On Behalf Of Kulp

I have always had serious issues with corn, both GI and opiates.MUCH worse

than gluten,or any other food,in fact.I have always eaten a lot  of

meat, especially chicken and pork,as beef has always caused me problems.Since

I went off dairy,I have been made more aware of problems in both areas from

chicken and pork.I had thought it might be from the seasonings used on

them, but are you saying the meat has absorbed the opiates from the corn ? I

had not heard this before.Details please.

I would say yeast and possibly gluten intolerance--are you gluten-free?  My

kiddos self-restricted their diet to dairy & high gluten foods (breaded ck.

nuggets, milk and noodles) when they were getting an opiate effect.  Is your

bacon GF and corn-free, too?  A lot bacon products have the latter

mentioned, as well as nitrates.  Applegate Farms bacon doesn't cause an

infraction reaction here.
