Guest guest
I know may people are against it, but miralax has worked wonders for our boy. Takes a couple of days. You can also buy enemas at the drugstore to clear out the " rocks " and get things moving. They are just saline solution in a squeeze bottle. We found that our boy was holding on to the BM, which caused it to lose water and become hard. In hospital yesterday  Do you give him apple juice or pear juice? Unsweetened apple juice has 28gms of natural sugar per 8fl oz. Cocunut milk has 4gms of natural sugar per 8fl oz. Normal range is 90-105 for fasting blood glucose(no food or drink for 12 hrs). Rochelle. > > > > > > Yesterday had to take Mickie to the hospital for severe constipation. Guest guest
Rock clusters is what it looked like in the ex-ray!! I wonder though, how often is to often for enemas? I remember my mom using them on my little brother and she swears by them. Guest guest
She said she started the goat milk last night and if anything sounds like the only thing that got things moving per se Look at the coconut milk label. we use the oil because we do not do well on sugar. But in general goat mil is gastro upset it is die off but it sounds like she just added it and it is what is " moving things " I would love to see how things work out. Guest guest
I would think repeated flushing would ruin good flora if it were established but if it were a bad flora to begin with maybe .. that's interesting But far away from my expertise lol. I know as soon as we added the goats milk and got on the GF track and digestive enzymes and probies and all that WE NEVER HAD POOP ISSUES again really. Unless a slip up on diet ...ya know. Guest guest
My mom and I have been trying to retrace his past food trail and we think that the ground beef that he had been eating over the last few months might have contributed to what is happening. It had a lot of fat and though I boiled it and then separated the water from the meat. I think it still probably had a lot of fat left. He was eating a few pounds of beef, one week out of the month and I wasn't blending it. I'm not feeding him that anymore-I have a feeling that was a contributing factor, if not the main factor. His digestive system is no ready....... Guest guest
By the way......I tried the goat milk and it's delicious......My mom has IBS too, so since she is going to start drinking it too-I will be able to get feedback from her on how it helps her. She is also very gassy, so it will be very interesting to find out what it does for her since Mickie can't tell me how he feels. Guest guest
He has a BM every day now, when before he would have one every other day if we were lucky. Sometimes 3 or 4 days without one. We are hoping to wean him off of it. He has been on it for about a month. Guest guest
Zurama and Crystal, When my son's belly looks swollen (thanks God he doesn't suffer from diarrhea anymore, but he did for 2.5 yrs) I give an enema w Bragg's apple cider (w/o the mother) 1/4 cup in 1/2 liter tepid water and after cleaning his intestines, I do a hot castor oil liver pack... I do this when he seems uncomfortable, not doing well w his tummy/appetite. Helps a lot in his case. In those nights, he sleeps better than usual. Guest guest
Thanks Dana. I will start reading-though his sugar free, I know I have missed something. Well right now I have him on liquid diet until all the old stuff come out. Yesterday I did a protocol that Dr. Krigsman has recommended for another child. I did this because it's an emergency and it beats sitting in the emergency room for hours while they do nothing for him. It's as follows 1. give one dose of synicot (check spelling) - one pill 2. one dose of Myrilax every 30 minutes for 4 hours - that equals to 8 doses (one dose Myrilax with 8 oz water every 30 minutes) 3. wait 30 minutes and give a suppository 4. wait an hour and give an enema He had a bowel movement fifteen minutes after the enema (runny with big chucks) and another this morning (just runny). Guest guest
No, he wasn't on Grapefruit Seed Extract. Hasn't been on it for over two years. In fact he hasn't been on any yeast fighters for over six months. I had noticed a lot mucous (clear) in his stool for months now, but I didn't know what to make of it, and as I just read in Callous Disregard, Dr. Wakefield says it's a sight of inflammation........ Guest guest
Yes, he has been casein free for the last seven years and he is off soy. I'm not sure if he is gluten free anymore, since he has been eating baby cereal for the past few months-oatmeal, rice and the mixed cereal. No aluminum-he hadn't even had Mylanta for over a year now. I added two things that might have contributed. In spite of being advised not to put him on Neocate, I did anyway for his need for nutrition about a year ago and it made him constipated, so I stopped it, but the constipation continued even though he would go everyday. The second was ground beef. He had a lot of food and I thought it was due to the scd diet, but he was probably associating pain with hunger. Guest guest
That mucus you say ... same here with both my kids .. one was ADHD and one autism... both nearly fully recovered. NO rx meds... I know I sound like a broken record but RAW dairy(goat was the best for us) was the only thing that healed the gut , fixed the poo ,and brought him back among other things lol Re: [ ] Re: Mickie compacted!!
