I've increased his biotin in an effort to control yeast, and wonder if this or any other supplement might be the cause? He's getting 20,000 mcg biotin 3 x daily, plus about 20,000 mcg more scattered throughout the day. He's 10, weight 140 lbs. Does this sound like biotin, or something else? At my house, this was caused both by vitamin A toxicity and B2 deficiency. Dana

Guest guest
Yeast has done this to me. Oddly though, when I took some seabuckthorn oil, it cleared it right up? I guess it is good for mucous membranes. From: Mum231ASD@... Guest guest
Laila, Are you suggesting that increasing his zinc might help? Or that if I'd recently tried to increase his zinc intake, that could be the cause? He gets about 90mg per day, and I have not increased it recently. Guest guest
I read in one of the books that zinc if not absorbed well or if we do long rounds of chelations, zinc deficiency is obvious and the first sign of it is sores in and around the mouth. my son is 6 and 38 pounds i give him about 60 mg in 4 doses during the day.He got better with that Also when my son was on diflucan for yeast his lips were dry and cracked up ..........i rubbed olive oil or petroleum jelly after he fell asleep. It stayed as long as he was on the medicine. Just my experience Laila From: Mum231ASD@... <Mum231ASD@...> Subject: Re: [ ] OT cracks at corners of mouth - supp related? Guest guest
Cracks at the sides of the mouth could be riboflavin deficiency (vitamin B2).
