Guest guest
Followup to the question: I thought the following was true? Zinc is an essential mineral of " exceptional biologic and public health importance " .Zinc deficiency affects about two billion people in the developing world and is associated with many diseases. In children it causes growth retardation, delayed sexual maturation, infection susceptibility, and diarrhea, contributing to the death of about 800,000 children worldwide per year. Guest guest
supplement with zinc while chelating as well as in between rounds Give it 2-4 times/day for max absorbtion (body will just waste it if you give it all in one big dose). Copper can impede zinc absorbtion. If you are chronically zinc deficient despite supplementing, you might want to look at the copper in supplements and/or in your diet and environment to see if you have excess exposure. Molybdenum can work well to lower copper and balance that copper:zinc ratio. I use a liquid moly from Allergy Resource Group. Guest guest
The World Health Organization actually recognizes zinc as a treatment for chronic diarrhea in under-developed countries. It can save lives. DMSA does not significantly deplete zinc, but instead mercury toxicity will affect zinc levels, as well as GI issues often associated with toxicity. Guest guest
Here, it says it does: http://www.vrp.com/ProductsSearch.aspx?k=dmsa It depletes them equally, I would suppose, because it binds to all these metals listed. ? > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi I am new to the group. > > > > > > > > > > > > I am looking into the best way to use chelation for my two NT kids with severe gut issues. Guest guest
But (I am thinking this through), wouldn't the extra zinc be wasted if DMSA binds to it for excretion? If not, then wouldn't the DMSA be working overtime and possibly not get all the mercury and other metals because it is working so hard to get all the extra zinc out? > > > > > > > > > > Hi I am new to the group. > > > > > > > > > > I am looking into the best way to use chelation for my two NT kids with severe gut issues. Guest guest
Andy has said in the past that the body levels of Zinc are not significantly reduced by DMSA. Guest guest
Makes me wonder, then, if it significantly reduces any other netal? If it is supposed to bind to all, but not really good to zinc, then I would have to question it's other capabilities. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi I am new to the group. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am looking into the best way to use chelation for my two NT kids with severe gut issues. Guest guest
There is a lot of info out there on this. As far as I know, supplementing potassium and zinc is a must, so are the minimum required supplements Andy recommends. Zinc maybe not so much because DMSA excretes it, but because of the yeast and infection fighting during chelation using it up. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi I am new to the group. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am looking into the best way to use chelation for my two NT kids with severe gut issues.
