Guest guest
Hi! I recently had heavy metals testing done for my son (almost 3) through Doctors Data (fecal test). I did the testing with a chelating agent (wasn't told til after the fact - by the doctor - that my son should have probably had the provoking agent given to him). I'm not too happy with my doctor about this and not sure how accurate the results are. He tested pretty high for several metals (nickel, copper to name two), but was low in mercury. My doctor is suggesting chelation (DMSA topical cream) in about 8 weeks after we correct the existing yeast issue he has (we've been doing biomedical for 1 year but he still has existing yeast issues according to a recent OAT from Great Plains). The doctor says he is excreting alot of metals (except mercury) even without taking a chelating agent. So this is my dilemma - do I retest his heavy metals again? Or is this test pretty accurate without a chelating agent? I want to make sure we know exactly what we are dealing with before doing chelation. I appreciate any insight/advice as this (chelation & heavy metals) is pretty new to me! Thanks, Maija
