Enhansa is high in oxlates and It also chelates iron.

Elise, my son is NT so our observations will most likely not be as meaningful

for you; I just wanted to say that we had him on 300mg's for several months in

our early stages of SCD and it was a God-send for him. I noticed a positive

difference in him within 20 minutes of taking it. I believe that was most

likely due to it's anti-inflammatory properties. We had already gone through

MASSIVE die-off and negative reactions to SCD so much of that was already taken

care off. Beyond SCD it was the most powerful thing we did. I highly recommend

it based on our experience.

the recommended dose (150mg/day)and immediately noticed increased sensitivity to

sound and movement, an absolute need to take a 2 hour nap mid-day (he hasn't

napped in over a year) and major mood swings. We increased the dose to 300mg in

week 2 but all of the above increased to intolerable levels so after a couple

days we went back to the starting dose.

He was actually pretending to cry just to see my reaction. He has does this

several times since then and if I ignore him he'll start smirking mischievously.

This is a big positive as he's never tried to solicit an emotional response from

me before.

Enhansa was tested for oxlates and oddly enough its actually low. The Autism

Project had it tested.

I've heard some great things about Enhansa, but I think it's either a WOW or a

nothing.  We've done two separate trials of enhansa about two years apart.  We

never saw any negatives or any positives whatsoever. Well, there was one big

negative - the expense - but no reaction from my dd whatsoever.

I am wondering if I need to continue (based on our lack of response), but I do

have nearly 2 full bottles left.

I'll start taking it myself. I think as a basic maintenance supplement it might

be beneficial, but when these are done I will buy less expensive curcumin.

We have been doing it for about 3 months (maybe 4 - I am bad at keeping track

anymore -- we are on our second order. I think about 5 weeks in at the highest

dose, our 4 y/o started really reading -- she had been reading plain words for a

while but started reading paragraphs. Not sure if its the Enhansa but that was

the only thing we did that was noteworthy. We have also noticed that she is

beginning to get things a little better. Things like I'll say " we're leaving

grandad's and going home " and she'll say " we'll see grandad tomorrow " . Something

she wasn't doing before (projecting into the future.

So we're pleased so far.

Thanks to all that responded on this. I will stay the course for another couple

of weeks. Last night he seemed to be babbling a lot more. Of course I'm looking

for it so it's possibly a placebo affect. I'll post an update when we get

further down the road.

Just started our third week and are seeing what you are seeing...emotional, mood

swings, defiant etc. I actually think it is also increasing yeast as a

(temporary?) side effect, because it is such a powerful cleaner-upper too. Ooh

yes, my girls are farting like you would not believe since they started

I have done Enhansa two different times for about 6 months each. Each time when

I start it makes my son super hyper. Once we gradually ramp up to full dose he

levels off but I can't say that I saw any major wows. I felt that it was a good

product to try esp for inflammation issues.

We added the No Phenol a few days ago and he seems a little less agitated. I'm

not sure if it's the No Phenol or if he's been on Enhansa for a few weeks and

the worst of the symptoms have subsided.

We are definitely noticing a lot of increased babbling and singing of songs (we

still can't understand the words but he's got the tune working).

On the down side he's also a lot more stimmy and is waking at night again - all

happy and active. Seems like it's probably a yeast problem and we're treating it

but will ride it out.

We plan on increasing the dose from 150mg 2x/day to 200mg 2x/day and see how

that goes. Good things are happening so we're going to stay the course. Will

post updates as things change.

stimmy and waking at night are more hallmark phenol issues.  I don't think

yeast would cause you to get up at night.  Be careful when you increase the

dose!  It might be better to stay the course with the current dose until the

side effects decrease.
