Guest guest
Regular ALA is well studied and we know that it is highly effective in chelating intracellular mercury. The R-ALA may work but it isn't as well understood so at this point it doesn't have a use for chelation purposes. > > > > > > Hello , I am new to this group , but not knew to biomed and  chelation ..After 5 years of Biomed and different types of Chelation ,we no longer can afford to pay  for all of it and I have been doing it on my own . Guest guest
The information on R-ALA is all over the board. Everyone seems to say it is more powerful/potent than R/S-ALA, but the numbers range from 6 to 40 times more powerful. I'm pretty sure they aren't talking about its chelating ability, either (most sites are body building advocates). When you are chelating, it is important to stay consistent in dosing and not over-stress the organs. With R-ALA my thought is you'd have little or no way to determine your proper dose. If anything, you will use much less than typically recommended for ALA. Some websites that sell R-ALA won't sell in capsules larger than 50mgs because they say long term research is not available to show the safety or efficacy of R-ALA at higher doses. To me, that doesn't instill much confidence. Lastly, I don't think the evidence is that convincing for R-ALA being superior to R/S-ALA in humans, so why bother with the extra expense and uncertainty? Just my thoughts. Pam p.s. just found one post referring to 'cheap' or improperly processed R-ALA carrying a risk of triggering auto-immune reactions. Not sure if that is a bunch of junk... but it is floating around out there. Don't go for the cheapest, generic version out there if you decide to use R-ALA. Find a reputable maker. > > > > > > Hello , I am new to this group , but not knew to biomed and  chelation ..After 5 years of Biomed and different types of Chelation ,we no longer can afford to pay  for all of it and I have been doing it on my own .
