Thanks Andy for putting it into perspective for me. I need to stop shying

away and start asking the questions I have.

Should

> I be looking for a DAN Doctor?

No. Most of them are no more competent than your current doctor. They're

just willing to do things and hurt your kid.

You want a COMPETENT doctor (who may or may not be on the DAN! list), who

understands your child needs the best care he can get, to recover,

regardless of any pretense by incompetent fools practicing medicine without

a clue about what is or is not 'scientific.'

If you want to know about 'science,' I suggest asking scientists, not

physicians. However you actually do not want to be 'scientific' and turn

your kid into a statistic in someone's grand experiment, you'd rather be

artistic and make him all better. You want a heath care practitioner of some

sort who understands that medicine is an art, illuminated by science but not

limited by it.

Three words: " Not My Job " .

We all have little enough energy to barely heal ourselves and our children.

Vote with your dollars. Give your money to a doctor who respects your

opinion as much as you respect theirs.

I totally agree with . It's Saturday, 6 pm; I've been reading, reading

and reading and, at the same time, trying to keep with all my duties (family,

work, etc.) since 6 am. My head hurts badly.

We pay them, but very often they just don't help at all, and *I* am the one who

should be educating doctors?! Why can't they do this job I'm doing?

I'm sorry, I'm not arguing with you Marsha, it's just I feel very frustrated

today.

On the other hand, I want to thank you all. I've got the most valuable

information from this group and Dr. Cutler during these last months. I almost

don't post --Onibasu search and I are good friends ;-) -- but I wanted to let

you know I thank you, from the bottom of my hearth. Hope a bit of this gratitude

help you today, in your own struggles.

Regards,

M.

YES!!! More people here should know about Onibasu (which was broken

yesterday, but is back up).

Hello ,

You and Joe certainly gave some useful information.

As a child I played with mercury. I received the 1976 swine flu vaccination

which was

recalled due to causing an unusual amount of neurological conditions.

That wasn't the question I asked though so I'll rephrase it.

Is the Spectrum test considered very reliable? Is it the same a physician would

administer?

Cheers,

Darrin

I don't know.

The real point for me is why do you need the " blessing " of a

diagnosis/label? The treatment is the same whether you call your

debility something or not: remove the root cause, though a safe

chelation protocol; and make yourself comfortable and more functional in

the mean time by addressing the symptoms with natural drugs

(supplements) and allopathic drugs (medication) where appropriate.

At some point here, we all understand that the label of " physician " does

not make someone intrinsically knowledgeable or intelligent. Few are

more than glorified plumbers.

Hello ,

'I don't know' is a good and honest answer.

If you had difficulty using your limbs, had severe fatigue, cognitive issues,

plus a lifelong

history of autism-like symptoms added to the mix, were unemployed, and had no

health insurance,

you might better understand my situation.

Alpha Lipoic Acid, which is used in the chelation process is very inexpensive

and over the counter vitamin.

You could get well for very little money. You don't need a doctor or health

insurance.

Isn't that worth taking a look at?

Hello TJ,

No one here knows what I have or haven't investigated, considered, or tried.

People are prejudging the heck out of me when all I've done is ask for some

information on how autism is diagnosed.

I appreciate the thoughtful replies but this group is a little too much like a

religious one for me.

Have a good week,

Darrin

Many of us on this list are parents of children on the " autism spectrum " . But

along the way we become better parents seeking truth and health for our children

and our self. We all go about it in a different way and what works for one,

doesn't work for another.

A blanket diagnoses doesn't work. Personally, I thought a child with autism

rocked in the corner and didn't talk. Well, that's not my son. He doesn't fit

any one mold, many don't. My son was reading at 2 1/2 but you couldn't carry on

a conversation with him. How " normal " is that.

We all march to a different drum, some more than others. Yeah, these tests can

be great. Has a parent, I've filled out my share of questions to " help "

diagnose my son. All it did was get my son services which we needed. Honestly,

I don't need any fancy test but boy, would everyone around him like to pick his

brain.

What I'm trying to say, don't get to hung up on an official diagnoses. I sat

around listening to a " team " talk about my son and different support staff in

school have all made their comments. The truth is, he's a gift, strange, unique

but aren't we all? Is chelation helping, YES. Supplements, enzymes,

probiotics, OMG! There is more to it. You can take control, learn. Wish you

better health. We are here to help!

Darrin,

A lot of people on this list are confronted with most of the items on

your list and situations similar to yours. That's the whole point of a

group such as this--to exchange ideas with people in like situations.

I was not suggesting you not seek treatment. I was trying to make you

aware of options, options that have worked here.

Keep asking questions. I'll try to preach less than the mainstream

doctors. :)

If you read the archives, you may change your mind.

You may even come to believe that the " cult religion " is actually

traditional medicine. We try to get as much as we can from it, as well

as from the real science and chemistry of the body, which most doctors

frequently ignore.

Thanks Marsha. I don't think this particuliar doctor is going to be open to

new ideas. I think traditional doctors don't want to listen and be open to

knew ideas because it goes against everything they have been taught and it

is much easier for them to just provide a medication and go to the next

patient.

Your doctor sounds like a branwashed parrot in repeating, " It's not

scientific. "

I wish you the best like everyone else here does in recovering him

completely, Hutsok.

I think we should all " stick " with our doctors if we can & work to help

educate them by copying good informaion from this group & any other good

sources we can find & then giving it to them.

Sounds like good advice to me . I would much rather give my $ to

someone that will listen and be open to other ideas. Maybe doctors will

come to realize they are losing money and open their minds to new things as

well.

We all have little enough energy to barely heal ourselves and our children.

Vote with your dollars. Give your money to a doctor who respects your

opinion as much as you respect theirs.

Kim, you might check out the Institute for Functional Medicine. They have a

list of doctors. That might give you a chance to find a doctor who takes

insurance but who is open to some alternative options.

Just trying to help. You said you were autistic. We have found through

experience here that autism in our children was usually caused by heavy metal

toxicity. We have found a way out. A light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

Wish you the best and hope you find what you are looking for. I guess we are

more focused on solutions to problems here, not so much the problem.

Hello TJ,

No one here knows what I have or haven't investigated, considered, or tried.

People are prejudging the heck out of me when all I've done is ask for some

information on how autism is diagnosed.

I appreciate the thoughtful replies but this group is a little too much like a

religious one for me.

Have a good week,

Alpha Lipoic Acid, which is used in the chelation process is very inexpensive

and over the counter vitamin.

You could get well for very little money. You don't need a doctor or health

insurance.

Isn't that worth taking a look at?

Hello ,

'I don't know' is a good and honest answer.

If you had difficulty using your limbs, had severe fatigue, cognitive issues,

plus a lifelong

history of autism-like symptoms added to the mix, were unemployed, and had no

health insurance,

you might better understand my situation.
