Guest guest
Andy says for kids under 6 you should see results within six rounds. Older kids can take up to 10-12 rounds. No negative, unless the dose is too high or you are not giving supporting supplements. The positive is subtle, but noticeable. I have heard of positive reactions after 1 or 2 rounds. We saw something around three rounds. Â Can anyone give me an idea when I should see some results? What am I looking for? By what round should we say, " this is working. " Should we be seeing negative before positive? Did anyone see anything at round 1? Round 2? Thanks for all your input! Rhonda (mother to 2 boys with autism, ages 10 and 7)
Guest guest
We saw some changes on DMSA only from round 1 - very subtle. My son was 5 years and 9 months. Just being more 'normal', more interested in things other than trains, more 'with it', learned (finally) to ride a scooter. We saw no negatives. There were more subtle things with every round but really just minor things. It could be making comments about something that he would not have noticed before or using an expression that is new or some new pretend play. For example over the Xmas holidays he just said Happy Xmas to everyone that came to the house, same for New Year's day, he was quiet for the whole Xmas service at church, able to walk up and down stairs without holding handrail, etc. Just added ALA this last round (round 8) and again minor things coming out - commented on how we test drove a Volvo car (when we drove on in front of the dealership) but it was too small so we purchased a VW - this was over 18 months ago and we never discussed it with him but he suddenly just said that. Also, I asked what are we doing for your b'day party and he said 'A pirate party' - every time he says he wants a train cake. We think this is a new development. So, very subtle changes but definitely something happening. Hang in there and good luck Chris On Mon, Jan 11, 2010 at 2:54 PM, TJ Werth <tj_werth@...> wrote: > > > Andy says for kids under 6 you should see results within six rounds. Guest guest
We saw a lot of the same things.. increased coordination.. began pedaling a bike on his own after countless times of us trying to show him.. stopped his constant drool (never came back!!), the fixation thing is slowly getting better (we are slowly moving out of everything airplanes all the time.. but I think this will always be a part of his personality - getting fixated on something, but I may be wrong), easier to get out of routine, easier to bounce back from disruption, and here is a new amazing one NO REACTION FROM ARTIFICIAL colours/ flavours.. he usually goes quite hyperactive and red ears and the whole bit.. and we would have a couple rough days,, but that is getting much much better. We had a milk infraction that went over not too bad too!! Less scripted speech. Better more consistent sleep. Some kinda come and go.. and eventually go and some are just lost for good. Its an interesting process. [ ] When should we see some results? > > > Can anyone give me an idea when I should see some results? What am I > looking for? Guest guest
Do a trial of at least 10 rounds. Everyone's different and it depends on factors like how long ago the exposure took place, which metals you're dealing with, etc. Many note differences in behavior and awareness. Guest guest
Rhonda, I just wanted to say that autism treatment has layers to it- Your children are little older and their bodies have learned to function messed up. Even if you don't see great gain from chelation removing toxin is the thing to do. I really love this paper why don't you take a look at it. http://puterakembara.org/rm/Dr_Jepson.pdf Also remember that they may become " upset " as they get better and better because things have been done for them. i.e. right now at 13 I am trying to get my son to dress himself but he fights me on it because it is easier to have mom help. Most of all I want to say be there for your kids. My 2 cents Ann
Guest guest
Thank you to all who responded! I feel more secure now as we are only on round 2 and we are seeing subtle subtle changes. Also, just like Andy said....about 24-48 hours after we pause the chelation....the kids are at their worst. So far, our very best day for behaviors is the day we stop chelating. > > Can anyone give me an idea when I should see some results? What am I looking for?
