Guest guest
You shouldn't go above ~ 1/2 mg per pound of body weight even if your child tolerates it. This will cause re-distribution. The body can only excrete so much metal during the round. If you pull more metal than this by using high doses, the body will not exctete it all and it will go back into the organs and brain causing more damage. Be patient, this is a long process. Â Hi everyone, I upped my son's DMSA to 50mgs every 4 hours the last 2 rounds. He does very well so far (also 25mgs ALA), no changes as far as tolerance goes. I did a random DDI UTM and we see lead in the mid yellow for the first time. Along with it comes some minor improvements in abstract thought and a little less anxiety during homework. Still zero mercury. He weighs 62lbs, so this is outside the 1/8-1/2mg per lb. Just wanted to post this in case others who have kids who tolerate higher doses are questioning if they should try to push the guideline limits (for Andy's recommendations) . For Andy: do you have problems with this dose level if it is tolerated? I have no plans to increase it more. Thanks, Pam
Guest guest
Pam, On Page 238 of his Hair Test Interpretation book Andy says to start at 1/4 mg/lb per dose and then to adjust up or down depending on side effects BUT DON'T USE MORE THAN 1 mg/lb. It looks like you are within the 1 mg/lb maximum guidelines. It'll take a few rounds to see if your son is really tolerating the 50 mg dose of DMSA, but you can always adjust back downwards if you see a problem. > > Hi everyone, > > I upped my son's DMSA to 50mgs every 4 hours the last 2 rounds. Guest guest
I have what might seem like a dumb question, but Kirkman recently went from selling DMSA to selling succinic acid. So, I use about 33 mgs succinic acid per dose. How is that different from DMSA and will it chelate? It must be doing something, or ALA pulls lead really well. Thanks, Pam > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I upped my son's DMSA to 50mgs every 4 hours the last 2 rounds. He does very well so far (also 25mgs ALA), no changes as far as tolerance goes.
