Guest guest
I am going through a divorce, I've had Medicare, with Tricare (military medical benefits), so basically everything I need is covered, no exclusions, RX, surgery, any doctors I want to see- with a small annual deductible. My health is very unstable due to multiple debilitating illnesses-JRA, Iritis, Uveitis, Glaucoma, Sleep Apnea, High BP, many joint replacements... My husband has filed for a divorce, so I will soon have Medicare only. I am trying to understand what that will mean for me...can anyone help me, even my attorney seems a bit confused and asked me to research this. Can anyone clarify this for me? How does it work, when you only have Medicare? What out of pocket costs will I have? Can I expect any changes in my medical care? What have others in similar situations done to not have to file medical bankruptcy?
Guest guest
I haven't been there but I think you should contact the Social Security Administration for your answers. Make sure you record the time of the contact and who you talked to. You might get a number for the person (perhaps a badge or employee number) rather than a name but get something to identify the person. You might get different answers from different people so make several calls as though each was your first call. I think Social Security waives all charges for people with low income but you will have to ask to find out what the limits are. You should be able to find a toll-free number for Social Security somewhere in the phone book under United States Government offices. You could also dig some information from their web site but I think the calls would be more informative. God bless. ----- Original Message ----- From: Lyn Rheumatoid Arthritis Sent: Sunday, September 04, 2005 3:16 PM Subject: Medicare my only ins...soon!
