S S Ordering DDI Hair Elements Test Posted by: " natkrupnik " natkrupnik@... natkrupnik Tue Mar 30, 2010 10:26 am (PDT) Hi all, I've been reading here that you don't need to have a doctor's order for the Doctor's Data, Inc. hair elements test. Just called them and they said that for all their tests they require a doctor's order. Has anyone had a luck ordering it without a doctor involved? Is there any other lab I can do hair elements test without doctor's order? Thank you! Natallia ------------------------------------------------------------ Cheap Diet Help Tips. Click here. Guest guest
Hi Natalli, I just ordered the test today. No problems. I am in CA. Doctor's Data have a doctor whose name they use on the order form. I've read there could be difficulties if you live in NY. Did you tell them you are from the Autism-mercury group? They offer a special discount, making the test only $75. G. -----I've been reading here that you don't need to have a doctor's order for the Doctor's Data, Inc. hair elements test. New York made hair tests illegal when someone used them to figure out some of the public schools were poisoning all the kids with lead. It was cheaper to make hair tests illegal than to remediate the schools. From Direct Labs' point of view, none of this applies to _sending_ a test kit to a New York address, which they do every day. The law applies to DDI, not DirectLabs, if the test kit is returned directly to them ( " collected in or mailed from New York " ). DirectLabs actually puts the name of a Louisiana MD on the test requisition, and the return address for the kit is in Louisiana. DDI transmits the results directly to DirectLabs in Louisiana. Nothing in NYS law prohibits a _doctor_ outside of NYS from transmitting test results to _their patient_ in NYS. I think. So this is how DirectLabs mails the test result to the patient in NYS. It's all loopholes and technicalities. At some point, DDI may start looking at the postmark on the test kits it receives and refusing those with NYS postmark. > New York made hair tests illegal when someone used them to figure out > some of the public schools were poisoning all the kids with lead. Guest guest
that's interesting. I am glad they are finding a way to get it done, as its really important for people to have more access. I wouldn't base any judgments about anything on what the police do. Turns out the police do all sorts of things that are illegal. > > > They can't do it if you are in certain states. I think one of those > is NY... > > Correct, if you give a New York address on the order form they can't > do it for you. > I _think_ NYS law goes something like this: New York State health law prohibits the testing of specimens collected in or mailed from New York and prohibits the transmission of data from a laboratory to NY physicians or residents, unless this laboratory is licensed under the New York State Public Health Law. Guest guest
They have this sale every April for Autism Awareness month. If you order the test another month and mention this group they give you a discount as well. S S Re: Ordering DDI Hair Elements Test Posted by: " Lynne " lynneseal@... lynneseal Tue Mar 30, 2010 3:15 pm (PDT) Hi! Direct Labs told me they are having a sale, starting tomorrow (4/1/10). The test will sell for $75, rather than the usual $93. Also learned from somewhere else that you can type in the coupon code AUT to get a discount on the price. Just ordered online today and they called me back to let me know about the sale tomorrow. Lynne ------------------------------------------------------------ Make the most out of every dollar. I ordered the DDI hair elements and a basic porphyrin test for a total of $100 with the AUT coupon code. For those not familiar with porphyrin this is info on the more expensive version of the test. http://www.metametrix.com/content/DirectoryOfServices/0060PorphyrinsProfile
