Guest guest
Hi girls- Having a good lawyer is key. I had a great one. You really need someone that specializes in disability Law. Its simply a matter of having your medical records and drs notes, lab tests, etc that the lawyer can present. A Law Judge looks at the evidence but its also very important to fill all the paperwork out correctly. They award retroactively, so the lawyer will get a cut if you are awarded. Its in their best interest to win for you. They will award from the time of actual disability when your disease disabled you. All you really need to focus on is proving or showing how this disease inhibits your daily life, with regard to dressing, eating, shopping, working, and doing simple everyday things. Get rid of a stammering lawyer. You need a lawyer that deals in this specialty. My girlfriend had a social security lawyer and was awarded not only ssdi but workmans comp too so image getting 3 thousand each month. This was california. You do not have to even be there if you have a good lawyer, atleast I didnt have to be there. Now mind you this was a decade ago. Its overwhelming and scary to be sure, and the paperwork. UGGGHHHH. Still, do not act the victim, act the advocate for yourself. Your quality of life is compromised and you didnt ask for this to happen to you. You want to have your health to work and lead a normal life like everyone else. You want to be a contributing member of society, and this disease severely limits or removes completely your proffessional, social and family interaction. It did for me. Its a devastating disease just to come to terms with psychologically. Feel free to email me. I will send links with additional information if anyone wants it.
