Guest guest
Whatever you try start slowly & only take 1 at a time to see if helps or causes a reaction. Our son doesn't have regular OCD symptoms but anxiety. He does well with GABA.  If the OCD is viral you could try olive leaf extract, but need to keep your yeast support going, as ole can make it worse. You could also try 5-HTP. Magnesium helps relax. Might want to try it in a calcium sup w a 2 - 1 ratio of mag. Some may disagree but I don't think you need high doses. A good omega 3 like omegabrite helps everything. omegabrite.com Hope someone else can help more. Kathy B.  <diamond12345@...> Subject: [ ] OCD/Anxiety  What supplements are good for anxiety and OCD? Guest guest
Dana, what do you think of PANDAS and the fact it is said you can only help it get better through IVIG therapy? Guest guest
> Dana, what do you think of PANDAS and the fact it is said you can only help > it get better > through IVIG therapy? Well, I eliminated strep here with OLE, and PANDAS is a strep syndrome. So there is at least one other way to eliminate it. I would not listen to someone who says " this is the ONLY way that works " . Dana
Guest guest
Pretty much according to the Panda's Resource Network. And they also only can recommend a handful of docs that deal with it and know anything about it. I take OLE and think it's great and can work for a variety of ailments. I actually take 6- 500 mg a day. How much did you start with your children and did it increase yeast? My #2 ended up needing 3000mg 3x per day. The others [and myself] needed less. Yes it increased yeast here, because OLE also worked on viruses, and viral die off really increased yeast here. Guest guest
I agree w Dana. Artemisin is also very effective against strep. Guest guest
For anxiety, you could consider adrenal/stress support like adrenal glandulars, vitamin B5 (panthothenic acid) as well as minerals like magnesium. For some people lithium orotate and theanine help. For OCD, inositol is useful here. For my son strep overgrowth in the gut increases OCD; antimicrobials like Phyto-Biotic or olive leaf extract along half an hour after lumbrokinase (an enzyme that helps expose the bacteria) help keep it in check.
