Guest guest
This is not normal... meaning you don't just let it go and chalk it up to being part of recovery via chelation. DMSA will always stir up yeast. As far as caprylic acid goes, the MCT (medium chain triglycerides) are used often to treat inflammation, not trigger/worsen it. People use it to treat Crohn's disease. My son has more issues on the last day sometimes because he is physically tired from being woken up twice at night. I am more irritable on the last day, too! But, there is no gut pain. I hope you can figure this out. Are you saying the first day on the OFF part of the round he feels better? Or does the gut pain carry on after the round is over? Pam > > We are just finishing up our second round of chelation for our son (we are only doing 6mg DMSA for a 40 lbs child). He does fine until the last day - then more wild, uncontrollable, oppositional defiant, " difficult " . Also this time on the last day he is really complaining that his tummy hurts him and he has stinky gas. He has said he has felt " sick " (tummy hurts) the last half of the day. Is this all yeast? He is a gut kid. > > He is on diflucan, he is SCD, we do probiotics, biotin 15000 mcg 2x/day. During this period I give caprylic acid (which did seem to help) and today I tried a garlic/parsley cap (don't think this helped). Anything else I should be doing for him? He doesn't react well to GSE. Oxalates are a problem - I know the parsley was not a good idea... > Also, is this pretty " normal " to what people see with this protocol? Not good the last day or more and then when the round is over he quickly returns to his " normal " self? > > >
Guest guest
I don't know what to think about the caprylic acid now... it is the only thing that has seemed to help him during this. We stopped chelating this morning and he has complained of pain in his tummy today too... -- In , " Pamela H " <phaselow@...> wrote: > > This is not normal... meaning you don't just let it go and chalk it up to being part of recovery via chelation. > > DMSA will always stir up yeast. Guest guest
My kids are sometimes irritable on the last day, and fighting with each other. I think that means they need more adrenal support. I think the over-the-counter yeast treatments are better than the prescription ones. It sounds like he'd do better with Candex/candidaise because they are enzymatic yeast treatments. The biotin dose seems a little high TO ME. I would definitely keep the caprylic acid, it's one that most of us have success with (via capsule or coconut oil), if it is giving you grief, it just means you have a lot of yeast and it will get better. When he is getting that gas, give activated charcoal and epsom salt baths to help him detox the yeast. That should cut down on the behavior from the yeast die-off. I think in general, you have to find a better yeast protocol and add adrenal support. Is there anything (colors, flavors) in the Diflucan? I remember thinking my son was high oxalate at one time too, can't remember why. I DO remember we had a major lessening of yeast following me trying Amla (Paradise Herbs brand I started with). So there are some ideas for you. Hang in there, it gets better. Liz > > We are just finishing up our second round of chelation for our son (we are only doing 6mg DMSA for a 40 lbs child).
