Hi Mercy,

With your background you should know that becoming addicted to

doctor prescribed medication is usually the result of not having

your pain controlled with enough medication. Not because you

took too much or were an addictive personality.

Perhaps you should be taking enough medication to actually get

you pain free for a couple of days, then lower the dose.

You might find that all will be resolved after you have your hip

done. I hope so.

Susie,

WOW! , That's a lot of staples!, I guess there have been improvements & changes in the surgery since then.

As for the Bursitis even though you have SSI you ARE entitled to RELIEF from your pain--,that >>INCLUDES shots <<< for bursitis.. You have to insist.

..Have you had any relief (treatment ) at all?

Yes ,the base of my thumb ( where it joins @ the wrist ) had become very painful & swollen. (from arthritis) .After surgery it was painful for a few days, then healed with no problem.. I am real glad I decided to do it.

I Know what you mean about your feet. I have arthritis in my feet also..Besides arthritis medication I found that soaking the feel in warm water helps a lot. Sometimes it gets soooooo bad I put ice packs on them.My doctor prescribed orthodics..they helped a little in the past..but I found the padded (or jel) insoles you put inside your shoes you can buy in the drug store helps just as much..unless there is another problem ...Again,even tho you are on SSI you ARE entitled to relief & treatment..

Hope you have a pain free & great Holiday..Take care.

Hi Ev,

I went to this Arthritis dr and just gave me this big rubber band and two sheets of excises and I did those already he couldn't tell me that much because he didn't do the operations well after I went to him I had this spine x-rays done and found out I have bad arthritis in my spine My regular dr just told me to move as much as I can I think I should send my dr that did the operations on me and the arthritis dr my paperwork about my spine I can't do the rubber band until this sore heals up on the inside of my leg I have poor circulation in the bottom of my legs . How do your feet feel mind feel like two blocks they are stiff . what is funny is I step on something I can feel it .Well I don't think I could have a pain free day .

I will asked my regular dr and see if he can help me . I'll try those jel insoles and see if they help me you have a nice day.

Go GO~ :) Sounds like your doing well and your recovery is going terrific. Good that your boss is slowly working back into the rountine of things.... maybe that'll be easier on ya in the long run starting from home and then progressing back into the work envirnoment. Less stressful then having it all dumped into your lap on day one. Great news.... thanks for sharing and hope how it only gets better each day that passes. :)

Hi everyone, Just had my six week check up with OS. All looks good. YEAH! He is happy with my walking with the lift and the work with the PT. Unfortunately, this also means I can go back to work - bummer. Oh well. My boss is being great and letting me work from home the last few days for PT. So that is at least something.

Just wanted to share my good news. Have a great day everyone!!!

Hi Susie,

I sure hope you can get some relief.Let me know what your Dr. says.

The jel innersoles may not be the total answer, but do help a lot.

Good luck,

Hi Ev,

I went to the dr on Friday and he said its healing nice it will take another month or two because its healing from the inside out it won't get a scab I got this because I have poor circulations in the bottom of my legs and these two boards hit me I had a scab on it but this Arthritis dr I went to told me to wear these suppost stocking and when I took them off it knock the scab off and it got deeper and thats when I went to my regular dr and he told me to leave it covered and change it every three days . I will be so glad when this is healed. I asked my dr about my bursits I guess I have to go to my Arthritis dr again my regular dr acted like I have to wait until this sore heals so I have to wait and see . My regular dr gave me some more pain pills because this sore really hurts sometimes I try not to take too many because I know the are not good for you .I also ask him about my leg that I had the knee replacement how its still numb and sore in the back of my leg he said it from having the knee replacement and it will be four years on Nov.22.

My neice came in from Florida shes a nurse she had a Ankle replacement and I couldn't beleive what the operation did to her she said the dr put 7 screws in her ankle to hold it in place she had a cast on it for three months she says she has a lot of pain that goes up her leg and she told me how they do a hip and knee replacement she said it was a bad operation and she couldn't look at it .Well maybe some drs are differant and not so ruff with their patients all I know that when I woke during my hip operation it sounded like they where working on a car I didn't feel anything its just hard not to remember that sound because when I had my knee replacement done I made sure they kept me asleep during that operation and they did.

Well you take car and have a nice day.

Hi,

I am glad to hear you you were able to see your doctors.

Sure hope you continue to improve. It's no fun having to cope with all sort's of ailments. But it is a good thing we have doctors that are able to help us.

Just keep a positive and prayerful attitude and take care.

Hope you feel better.

You shouldn't have to do it for him and wear yourself out like that. If I'm butting my nose in too far, shush me ok.

>>> Slap my nose too then... because I agree. His room= his responsiblity. That's 4 days you could've had for better things you'd actually maybe ENJOY doing. I tell my youngings my part is proving the roof... what's under it might belong to you but I expect it to be kept cleaned by your proving the service~ so chop 2 it and GET~R~DONE. LOL

Susie,

I hate to meddle but how old is your grandson? If he's under 2, I understand, but even a small child can be taught to help pick up toys and such. You shouldn't have to do it for him and wear yourself out like that. If I'm butting my nose in too far, shush me ok. It takes me longer to clean house too. My daughter and hubby do help me so that makes it easier.

Susie,

I know what you mean about things taking longer to do!!

But good for you for 'hanging in there",we have to keep trying.

I am glad to hear the gel innersoles are helping.

I have joined a Arthritis water exercises program, just started this week.A real nice group.Exercising in a pool is is much easier then other exercises & helps a lot.Plus it is a lot of fun.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Take care.

Thanks Sassy,

I don't clean my daughter's room for her. I haven't since she was young other than maybe sweeping and mopping. When she got to be a teenager, she even had to do that. Her dad and I shelter her, feed her, and we'll help her with her baby while she lives at home, but I will not pick up after her. She is 22 years old and I'm not her servant. She does work part time and helps with buying her clothes and stuff, but she can't afford to live on her own right now.

Exercising in a pool is is much easier then other exercises & helps a lot. Plus it is a lot of fun. >>> I agree Ev... only draw back I found in it was I'd "over do" before I realized it. Being in the water seems to take alot of the stressing off your joints and the weightlessness (? LOL is that even a word~ giggling just don't sound right) makes it much easier to do some of the exercises I had. Maybe it's just an "all in the head" deal that made the difference in it ? I can't say~ but several have commented on the benefits of pool exercising verse traditional means.

>>> Count your blessings there though . It amazes me these days at how many adult children don't stand up and take responsibity for their lil ones and put them off on grandparents not doing anything for the child much less to actually help out. I can only pray that mine do it the right way as well when it comes time. Least she is stepping up~ and doing what she can... hopefully she'll get on her feet fully before long. Shoot though... these days it's hard raising a family & maintaining a household with both parents working full time much less it being done by one.
