Guest guest
Hi, I am still awaiting the results from a hair test that I have recently sent off for my 6 year old son. He does not have amalgam fillings. Can someone clarify for me whether its ok to start directly with DMSA and ALA together or would it be advisable to check the copper levels via the test results first but in the meantime use DMSA dosed at 1/8 of his body weight. I had read in the files about starting initally with DMSA until the body burden of mercury was down by 80% - not sure if this applies in my case as I assume it was referring to adults with amalgam fillings which had just been removed. Incidently, what tests would be required to check that the body burden of mercury had been reduced before commencing ALA? Dawn

That way you can observe the side effects that each one gives and find the most comfortable dose of each before combining them. The guidelines about how often to chelate with ALA when copper is high are given in Andy's " Hair Test Interpretation " book. > I had read in the files about starting initally with DMSA until the body burden of mercury was down by 80% - not sure if this applies in my case as I assume it was referring to adults with amalgam fillings which had just been removed. > It applies to an adult with amalgam fillings or anyone who had any recent acute exposure, like from a vaccine. ALA should not be used until 3 months after acute exposure. > Incidently, what tests would be required to check that the body burden of mercury had been reduced before commencing ALA? > There aren't any. 3 months after exposure seems to work.
