Guest guest
here's my 2 cents. My boy used to get aggressive fairly often...for him I addressed yeast and allergies. Once those were under control, the behaviors magically got better. For yeast I used a number of different protocols until I found one that worked for him, also cut back certain sugars to next to nothing. For allergies, wow, there's so many to address but for him it was food testing and rotation, strict diet with tons of low oxalate vegetables, low phenol fruits, super good HEPA in his bedroom, organic mattress, pillows, dust mite covers, no carpet in room, only one stuffed animals, washable curtains... Keep chelating if you're getting good pulls, do a pre and post once in a while to make sure. Finally, one parent to another, take a couple hours to enjoy him as he is with no " interventions " , just let him be a boy with all his transgressions and love him for it. This is important for my son's emotional security and self-esteem. > > Do any of your children have issues with anger? My 7yo boy can get intensely angry sometimes. I thought it was just with family, but recently I heard him giving it to a little neighborhood boy (his friend's little brother) - it was very upsetting for me to hear. And today, he got really angry at his friend for dropping a stick on his foot (it was an accident, but he has trouble recognizing that). He has not been diagnosed ASD, but to me seems to be on the spectrum, with gut issues, lots of food allergies and sensitivities, some stimming, sensory issues, etc. > > He takes the following supplements: > EMPower plus - a multi vitamin mineral supplement > Magnesium > Aloe vera > probiotic > omega 3 fish oil > vit c > vit e > GSE and biotin > melatonin > > We are chelating w/ALA using AC protocol most weekends. > > Any thoughts on what might be causing this and how I can help? > > Thanks. > >

Does he take allergy meds? Â Thanks, D. From: drymeadow06 <drymeadow06@...> Subject: [ ] Re: Anger - how to help? Date: Friday, March 19, 2010, 8:55 PM Â here's my 2 cents. Guest guest
He has had IgE testing done and is allergic to milk, eggs, peanuts, lentils, chickpeas, peas, pistachios and cashews. Environmental allergies to dust, mold etc were all negative. We use Benedryl for accidental exposures and an Epi-pen if needed (thankfully never used). He is also on a GFCF diet because he had a positive stool test for gluten, and because we do the diet for my daughter and I suspected that it would be helpful for him as well. He has not had IgG testing, which maybe is the next step. I've been putting it off, because honestly, I know a lot of you do it, but I don't know how I could eliminate yet another food or foods. I was thinking maybe digestive enzymes? For yeast, he takes 3 GSE caps a day (100mg caps) and 1000mcg of biotin. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have! > > > > Do any of your children have issues with anger? My 7yo boy can get intensely angry sometimes. Guest guest
Thank you. I do know and appreciate that he really is a sweet, loving kid (at least a lot of the time ) It's just very difficult to deal with the anger sometimes, especially because there's usually no real trigger, or his reaction to a trigger is really over the top. He does have many IgE food allergies, never had IgG ones done but probably should. I wrote in another email that I can't imagine having to eliminate even more foods, but I'm sure you know how that is. > > > > Do any of your children have issues with anger? Guest guest
Thanks Dana. Did you use the enzymes instead of eliminating foods from the diet, or did you do both? I will try eliminating the GSE for a few days and see if it makes a difference. I just assumed he probably has yeast since we're chelating, and he's only on round 13. > >>I was thinking maybe digestive enzymes? > > > HNI enzymes worked very well here. > > > > For yeast, he takes 3 GSE caps a day (100mg caps) and 1000mcg of biotin. > > > If I gave my son when he did *not* have a yeast problem, it would cause problems including anger. Guest guest
My youngest son's bad temper dramatically improved with resolving a mold issues in the house that was near where he slept, so he had been breathing it all night long. The other thing that helped (some years back, well before we resolved the mold issue), was sitting him down when he was about 13 or 14 and talking to him about hormones and what they do to the body/mind/emotions. The punchline of that discussion was: Your problem is called TESTOSTERONE, not " my b*tch mother " . If you are seeing major anger issues in a 7 year old, I would wonder if something was hormonally out of whack. Some of the foods we eat are treated with hormones and I believe metal poisoning can play a hand in this area. You might do some searches on Onibasu for this topic or maybe you will get lucky and someone more knowledgeable than I am will pipe up on the topic. Good luck with this. I used oral mB12 also. It required folic acid, B2, and carnitine for proper absorption. What helped most with the hyper was the folic acid. Watch for yeast, all of these supps tend to increase yeast, including the mB12 itself. Dana
Guest guest
Hi, . Your post struck a chord with me. I have also seen flare ups with my children's tempers, and mine (not immune from the real world here). I've been addressing Clostridia because of diarrhea and anger. These are some symptoms to watch for with Clostridia. Another thought to ponder is that we are in Spring time and our bodies are naturally geared towards cleansing during this season. So, while keeping his supplements and other regimens going please explore the Eastern philosophy regarding the liver and how it affects our moods. Seasonally, the Spring is the time in which our bodies, specifically liver, cleanse. According to Eastern thought when the liver is trying to push toxins out it is reflected in a mood of anger, guilt, and depression. Ring a bell? It's just one of the things I've been learning on this health journey. Timely enough, I just received an email from Body Ecology regarding this subject. Here's the link if you're interested (the newsletter I received is #4): http://www.bodyecology.com/archive/articles.php Take care and good luck! Guest guest
Thanks Theodora. Interesting take on spring and liver cleansing, etc. What's really interesting to me is that people with " bipolar disorder " often talk about mania increasing (which very often includes anger and irritability) in the springtime - maybe they are putting some extra demands on their livers during that time. My daughter has been diagnosed with this disorder, but has been completely helped by diet, vitamin and mineral supplements and chelating - no psychiatric meds, which most doctors will tell you is the only way to treat this disorder. I'm no longer a believer in psychiatric diagnoses. I will check out your link. > > > > Do any of your children have issues with anger? My 7yo boy can get intensely angry sometimes. Guest guest
Our mold problem was in and under the washing machine. Some places you might physically look: In crawl spaces, under and behind large appliances or furnishings which haven't been moved in a while, under loose wallpaper corners, window sills and door frames, etc. I think there is a tool you can use for checking the walls. I believe they did that at a previous apartment I had. But you would have to google it or ask someone else what it is called. Any damp corner or out of the way spot that doesn't see much activity and is on the dark side is a prime spot for growing mold. Good luck with this.
