Hi all, This is Steph in VA. I was unemployed for a few months & searched for healthcare. It is true that Blue Cross Blue Shield will cover anyone -- but at a price. BC/BS quoted me a minimum monthly rate at $750 with a $1500 deductible and no Rx coverage.

Take care,

You were very lucky with that quote. I have a friend who has cancer(and luckily is rather wealthy) but she is paying $2500 a month for BlueCross/BlueShield, individual policy, with no prescription coverage.

Pre-existing conditions do have quite a bit to do with wether or not you are admitted into a particular insurance program, and/or the premium you pay and what it does/does not cover.

Speaking from experience here.

Rose, who both her and dh have pre-existing conditions (pre-*any* arthritis)

Just FYI for everyone. I used to live in massachusetts, and I used to get medex gold. That is an all inclusive plan that you pay 1500 a quarter for or more. You never have to worry about anything being covered, except going bankrupt. Be well everyone, Deborah
