Guest guest
Hi, relax there is no rush, it sounds like you need to do some more research before you start. You should read the files about protocol and the supplements that are recommended. You have to decide the dosage yourself - others can tell you what they do, but you take it from there. The kind of selenium you want is selenomethionine and it is not toxic if given properly. If you get a Doctor's Data Hair Elements test, you will have some important information to help you make good treatment decisions. > > We are trying to get the supplements ready for getting my 2 year old kid started with A/C Chelation. I ordered selenium and then realized that selenium is actually toxic. I ordered the New beginings Liquid Selenium(from ourkidsasd.com) which is a sodium selinite and is toxic. I am so glad that i decided to check it in the forums before giving it to my son. > Really makes me think whether it is worth it to do the chelation. Guest guest
> Can anyone tell me what brand of selenium i should use and how much should be the dose for a 2 year old weighing 28lbs. I used selenomethionine. I started with 50mcg and worked up to maximum of 100mcg 2x per day for a while. My kids were larger than yours tho. I think with yours I would start with 25mcg and work up to 50mcg 2x per day. When we no longer needed it, it caused major headache, so watch for that. > Also, what kind of molybdenum should i use? what brand of molybdenum? molybdenum with ammonia is safe or not? The only moly that I was able to find was Kirkman brand, unless I bought it as part of a multi-mineral supp. I used the same doses as listed above for selenium. > Also, I was considering supplementing iodine because of suspision of some hypothyroid issues. What kind of iodine should i use and what should be the dosage for a 2 year old weighing 28lbs. I used same doses as above. I did not need to use this for very long. >>Should i use tyrosine? Where can i buy the tyrosine from? what brand of tyrosine? I use NOW brand tyrosine. This is the only supplement my son still needs [we are almost done!] I started with half of a 250mg capsule. It requires B2 and B1 for proper absorption, and the B2 requires carnitine, and the combination tends to increase yeast. Selenium and tyrosine were the main supps my son needed to correct his hypothyroid. Dana
Guest guest
Rochelle, you know, I am encountering the same problem with selenium as I try to get supplement dosages ready for chelation. I see that by giving a multivitamin with basic minerals I already have max selenium dose required, but not so of the other essential minerals. so I can't actually add a multimineral to cover the dosage needed of the other minerals because I would overdose the selenium. I do wonder though why they would even bother to make multis with such a high amount of selenium, if it is indeed toxic long term. also, why would New Beginnings even manufacture a toxic supplement ? they are careful. which makes me wonder whether all this selenium toxicity is really that much so. comments appreciated. Guest guest
Too much of anything, even a good thing, is toxic. Everything in moderation. > > We are trying to get the supplements ready for getting my 2 year old kid started with A/C Chelation.
