Guest guest
My 4yo ASD son has been on Enhansa for nearly 3 weeks. We started week one at the recommended dose (150mg/day)and immediately noticed increased sensitivity to sound and movement, an absolute need to take a 2 hour nap mid-day (he hasn't napped in over a year) and major mood swings. We increased the dose to 300mg in week 2 but all of the above increased to intolerable levels so after a couple days we went back to the starting dose. I know Lee Silsby's site says to expect regression and flu like symptoms for several weeks but my son is obviously not enjoying this and it's making me question whether this is right for him. On the interesting side: After 1 week on Enhansa he got really close to my face, stuck out his bottom lip and then conjured up tears. At first I thought it was a strange emotional outburst but I quickly realized that he was faking it! He was actually pretending to cry just to see my reaction. He has does this several times since then and if I ignore him he'll start smirking mischievously. This is a big positive as he's never tried to solicit an emotional response from me before. If you are using Enhansa would you please let me know if the first few weeks were hard but got better with time? Also, any positive or negative experiences would be helpful. Thanks!
