Guest guest
We stick to the hypoallergenic of everything at Kirkman, same with the ALA - we mix the ALA in with juice to mask the flavored. They use a lot of additives and flavorings in the non-hypo stuff that a lot of our kids can't tolerate, my son among them. We learned this the hard way. Guest guest
If you are not going to open/dump the capsules, then there is absolutely no reason for flavored capsules. Even if you open them up, ALA itself is tasteless. I think it is silly for them to make flavored ones, but I know they want to appease people. I ordered flavored this time by accident. They smell so fruity it is gross. ALA has a shard-like quality to it. If you are opening and dumping to make smaller doses, be careful about how you mix it with liquid (mix it well!) or food. It can irritate the throat. I always get the hypo-allergenic options for all of their products (that they offer that way). Just a mistake this time I won't repeat. Guest guest
" Flavored " means using a sweetener to add taste. Kirkman's used Stevia for this, and their choice of a bad supplier (from China) led to their recent troubles with high antimony levels. Why risk anything like that unless you really need to?? I'd suggest keeping things very simple. Split open the unflavored capsules and hide the taste in juice. We used syringes for that (and to break up the doses into the proper amounts) when starting out and it worked fine. Best of luck. > > Hi all, I went to order my ALA from Kirkman today and they asked me if I wanted the flavored casules or the non-flavored. I didn't know what to get! What does everyone use?
