Hi -

I wonder if the Nature's Biotics has any fillers in it.

Most probiotics say that people will go through a phase of constipation as the

gut is colonizing. I went through that with some of the other probiotics that I

tried in the past and it eventually passed. However, I started the PD in March

of 2002, long enough ago that it should have passed. We really suspect the

stearic acid that is the main culprit.

Culturelle also has a filler...Inulin. According to the Tech Dept at Klaire,

their Inulin is dervived from chickory and is not FOS. Although the Culturelle

seems to be working for me, it is only one strain. It has been sugested that I

consider doing organic yogurt (yeck) or Kefir. I am having a hard time finding

Kefir without FOS. (My natural healer does most everything from food and herbs)

Yesterday, my body showed that it still really likes the Culturelle but now

does not like the PD caplets that I have been using. The label lists a

vegetable source stearic acid which according to her, can be extremely

drying to the colon. Even when we tested it with a lot of water, my body

will no longer accept it and it may be the most likely culprit for this

never ending constipation that I have been struggling with. Even the

magnesium has not helped this problem on a consistent level so what she says

sort of makes sense.

Kathy,

Kefir is pretty easy to make at home, and this way you know for sure there

is nothing in it but what you put in it. Grains can be ordered online (real

cheap, but I need DH to get me the address as the making of the kefir is his

department!). He drinks it faithfully every day, but had to stop for a while

to eliminate them from his diet, and now needs to add it back in (thus, we

too need new grains), just to make sure the kefir is not a factor in his

migraines. He sorely misses it!

Hi -

I have tried so many different probiotics that it's hard to say. I would say

and average of maybe a month then it would start to lift.

HI Kathy,

How long did the constipation last with the other probiotics?

I checked the label of the NB's for fillers and did not see any, however,

they could still be there.

Hi, just wanted to let you know about Primal Defence and how it

effected me, I was very eager to get better and took a moderate dosage

rather than starting with half a pill and working my way up, this gave

me very bad diarrhea. So your body may be different but i would just

let you know from my experience that you may want to start with a very

low dosage and work your way uo until your body is used to it.

Kathy,

I'll ask him tomorrow. We've been on the road, and are back on the road

tomorrow, but I'll send him an e-mail asking for the site. It's really easy

to make.

You'll definitely notice a difference. This product is best coupled with Fungal

Defense. It works well but it's not a solution. I think you need to also take

inulin with it which is a prebiotic that will cajole your guts to fight candida

for themselves. I've been using a product called Fibre-iffic. So eventually you

can take a lower dosage of Primal Defense to keep healthy. On the bottles it

says it takes a good 4-6 months to reinstate your good bacteria.

So hang in there... with those products you are starting in the right place and

could possibly win your battle!

Good Luck!

I have been taking 6 Primal Defense a day for about 6 weeks now and noticing

good improvement. I also took Nystatin for a few months before, which also

helped, but some symptoms still linger, like occasional stomach cramps and

gurgling. I hadn't heard of inulin until joining this list. I will definitely

look into that. Thanks!

I did Primal Defense and Fungal Defense per the instructions on the bottle and

got severe constipation that was so bad it was scary. I have however heard many

people have wonderful reactions from it so I think there is some merit. I think

maybe we have to work up, and the instructions on the bottle should be ignored.

I did have several people though say they had constipation problems. It ticked

me off that there was nothing on their website about that and what to do and of

course it was the weekend.

Primal Defense gave me migraines. Of course, there are times when it

seems that EVERYTHING gives me migraines, but this wasn't one of them. ;-)

Hi

I have a friend who has an extremely difficult time with anything because of

the big C and is using Primal Defense. She decided to go slowly and is

seeing improvement....Each person is different and your system reacts

differently. This one seems to have a very good reputation with the people I

ask. However if you have candida they suggest

you use their Anti fungal Product. There is also a book or two co- written

by the owner of this company. The Guts and the Glory Program, This is the

one that is good for those who have Candida.http://www.beyondprobiotics

net/restoredigestivehealthbook.htm

You can find it at the above link.

Kathy, it isn't working for me with either typing or cutting and pasting. For a link to work, it has to be whole (i.e., not in two lines). Thanks, The Mitcheners <spiritfire@...> wrote:

Eileen I started taking Primal Defense about a week ago after getting

a recommendation from a lady a I ran into at the local health food

store who had problems with candida. She said its worked well for

her. Like I said I've only used it for a week so no noticeable

results yet. But I'm also new at this so perhaps as I get better with

my anti-candida diet I'll begin to notice some difference. I'll post

in a month or so and update you on my progress with primal defense.

Yes, I have been on Fungal defense for 2 weeks then switched over to Primal

Defense. It seems to really have helped me. I have generally been feeling

very well. I'm feeling lousy today but had a very processed dinner and I

think I'm reacting to that.

Search Google on " Probiotic Disinformation Practices " for more.

See also the Google search results on " Probiotic Supplements a Scam? "

Point being, use it for the first month at most, then switch to

native HUMAN bowel bacteria. Prebiotics are good always.

I used this one & granted I didn't take more than one bottle, it did nothing for

me which is probably why I didn't continue on with it LOL

He has a great story to tell, but that could be all marketing or, it worked for

him & not for me.

Your decision : )

Primal Defense

I keep hearing a lot about Primal Defense, how it " aggressively

consumes pathological yeasts, fungi, bacteria, parasites and

viruses. " Does it only work in the colon, or is it also good for

systemic candidiasis? The company (Garden of Life) states that one

should not use their product along with other products. I was

thinking of taking Primal Defense and stop taking the antifungal

herbals. Can someone shed some light on the subject? Thanks in

advance.

Dear all. I had a BAD experience with the Primal Defense. Made me

deathly sick. I tried it 3 different times. Ended up in the ER twice. I

am

now trying Candex, but dont know the results yet. Will post the results when

I know the outcome. Hugs. " Blue "

Dear all. I have written about my experience before on this website. But

will sum it up again. Constipation, vomiting, bloating, head exploding,

horrible pain that kept me rolled up in a ball on the bathroom floor. A few

other

people wrote in to say they couldnt take it either and also got real sick.

Maybe one them is still reading on this support group, and will write in

again about it. Or maybe you can look up past digests and find where it was

discussed and read it. Maybe the moderators of this support group can help you

with this. :) Hugs. " Blue "
