Guest guest
Trying to figure out which recent change we did could possibly have resulted in this gain. Most recently dropping DMSA and doing ALA only (have done 2 weekends of this)... OR... Enhansa kicking in (we're on week 6 of it at the highest dose per day). Now, our daughter has been reading single words and a few sentences for quite some time so it's not an overnight sensation but just this past Saturday she picked up her workbook (one of those getting ready to read preschool books with letters, connect the dots, etc) and actually pointed to and read all of the directions at the top of the page (about 5 sentences which are meant for the parent to read to the child)! Just as my husband and I were commenting on how awesome it will be when she understands what she's read, she asked us for a blue crayon to do what the directions said to do (which was color all the letter M's blue). And now she says " thank you mommy " or daddy after we give her her supps. Curious, very curious. I was about to add DMSA back in but think I might keep it out for a while to see what's what (we have been AC chelating since Sept 09) Just wondering if anyone dropped DMSA and saw something like this (we have seen very few " wow " moments since starting) or someone had something like this with Enhansa. OR...if it could just be a coincidence.
Guest guest
Wow! I'd definitely stick with ALA only and see what continues to happen. I don't know if DMSA would necessarily have been holding progress back, but I wouldn't mess with success (yet!). The comprehension is the big key. That is wonderful. Enhansa is just curcumin, right? Certainly the anti-inflammatory process can help with language and overall brain function. I'm not aware of any timeline for seeing improvements with curcumin (turmeric), but I'll bet that can take a while to 'kick in', as you say. Guest guest
Re: Enhansa  same experience here... it was like the fog lifted...  After starting him on Enhansa, my son came running into the living room pointed at me then at my husband and said " Mommy! " and then " Daddy! " like he just recognized us after being away for a long time...just an amazing difference. It was like the spell he was under was broken.  If our kids have inflammation in their brains then this product seem to be addressing it. Good stuff IMO.  From: mosaictm <sunshine369@...> Subject: [ ] Re: 4 y/o reading paragraphs and saying Thank You Mommy Date: Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 2:18 PM  I thought the hoopla about Enhansa was crazy. Then I bought some just so I could say I tried it, but put off using it for months. I added it a few weeks ago. Within days my son was sleeping through the night for the first time in 6 years, and showing real " awareness " I'd guess I'd call it. He would actually try to correct himself when he tried to say something and it came out sort of socially unacceptable, he would acknowledge that it sounded bad, but he didn't mean it that way. Took him to a hair salon for a hair cut for the first time in years - not paying someone to come to the house, and took him along to the grocery which was impossible for years. Guest guest
Hi everyone, Thanks for all the responses. She actually told our houseguest (who she hasn't seen in 2 years) Thank You Karlene! Wow. Anyway -- we followed the protocol for Enhansa on the Lee Silsby website (which basically starts at 150 mg daily then doubles it every week until you get to 600 which is where we've been for 2 weeks.). She is on 17 mg (she's 34lbs) of ALA per the AC protocol on weekends. She's been doing DMSA and ALA together per the protocol until about 2 weeks ago when I dropped the DMSA just to see what would happen. Guest guest
Enhansa is produced by Lee Silsby; here is more information:  http://www.leesilsby.com/enhansamain.php We started with a low dose and slowly increased the dosage.   From: mosaictm <sunshine369@ embarqmail. com> Subject: [ ] Re: 4 y/o reading paragraphs and saying Thank You Mommy Date: Tuesday, March 30, 2010, 2:18 PM  I thought the hoopla about Enhansa was crazy. Guest guest
Speech for us has been jumpstarted first with Essential Fatty Acids (Nordic Naturals ProEFA, to be exact) back when he was 3 yrs. The next boost was with a product called Methyl-Guard (TMG, P5P, folate and mB12)at age 5 and then an anti-viral course (Lysine and Olive Leaf Extract) within the next year. All of these led to immediate and noticeable improvements in pronunciation, sentence length/structure and back/forth conversation. I actually went out and ordered some Enhansa last week after reading this post. I cannot tell you the last time I did something like that (read a post and bought what they used)... today was the first dose. Some theorize regressive autism is some degree of neuroinflammation, which honestly makes sense if you believe vaccines (autoimmune reaction)had something to do with the regression, so my hope is that reducing inflammation by promoting an anti-inflammatory diet and supplementation and reducing inflammatory promoters (through diet) I can reduce neuro inflammation and promote healing. fish oil, vitamin C/E, coQ10, curcumin, ginger, diet high in fruit/veggies and low in red meat... all good. I have learned over the past 7 yrs that there is no miracle. I was certain each time I started something new that " This would be IT " . Each intervention I described above have helped bring my son from a babbling 3.5 yr old to a very verbal child. He still struggles with what they call " working memory " (integration/processing/retrieval), but overall he is quite typical. Of couse, I'm expecting big things from Enhansa now! Let's hope it isn't die off. I have been lucky to never experience the horror of die-off. Take care. Feel free to ask me more questions if I didn't answer what you were asking.
