My adult reaction to chelation with DMSA

I hope this may help someone understand (possibly) what their child may be going

through.

I have been chelating with DMSA for approximately 3 months. My first couple

rounds went by without incident at 10mg DMSA, so I upped the dose to 25mg and am

still on that dose.

When I increased my dose, I had quite a bit of yeast that was noticeable in that

I was staying up very late at night, I started craving crunchy food, sugars and

carbs, and I got headaches (I am guessing from the ethanol or yeast toxins).

Also on my first few rounds doing 25mg, I had very bad intolerances to foods,

especially salicylates, and I developed really bad canker sores in my mouth. (I

am quite sure DMSA does something as an antiviral)

Toward the end of my round and for the next couple days, I felt like taking

really hot showers/baths a LOT. I was also very hungry, almost to the point I

couldn't be satisfied. At the same time, I became quite obsessive with

activities I liked, like being on the internet or researching something

extensively. While obsessing with that, I also felt very antisocial, feeling

like I didn't want to be bothered even though I knew it wasn't the right thing.

In other words, my motivation was altered and it was hard to pull myself from

something I preferred to something that was morally right or something that

required my " empathy " .

For a couple days after a round, I am not very productive because of this. I

think I need to be taking more Choline/Inositol to help me in this area.

Thank you so much for posting this! We increased my sons dose this weekend and

sounds like you are describing him! He is nonverbal so I truly appreciate

reading anything from kids/parents who have been there! This helps me

understand!

I'm chelating with DMSA (just finished round 3), as well. I've noticed similar

things on rounds 1 and 2. Staying up very late at night, hunger, bad canker

sores in my mouth. My lymph node was tender.

The most noticeable for me was that I didn't feel like doing anything on rounds

1 and 2. I was not physically tired, though. I usually try to be active with my

2.5 years old son. But, I just sat down and let him watch TV way too much more

than usual.

My son just finished round 7 and I don't think he's experienced this laziness.

Or not that I've noticed.
