Guest guest
Welcome Meliea! I'm glad you decided to jump in here! I am just starting week 2 of my first challenge (DH & I are a team!)- and my story is much the same as yours! I am mom to 3, and have pretty much struggled with my weight all my life, but definitely through the child bearing years! This will be the third, and final time I hope, that I have gone through a major 'weight-loss'. I am in this for " Life " now. It sounds as if you are on the right track already, and you CAN do this! My first week was a great success - I already feel energetic and confident that I will succeed in this! I know, as a mom, you feel guilty and maybe a little 'vain' taking time for yourself, but trust me, in the long run, you will be a better mom when you feel great and look great! You have to empower yourself before you can empower others! Good Luck! Cyndi

Guest guest
Hi there, I'm no veteran at this by any means, so I'm sure the others will have better suggestions. I think as time goes on, those cravings will diminish. It might be tough in the beginning, but as your healthy habits form, saying no to chips will become easier. Or sometimes creating a substitute like baking some ww pita bread and use that with one of your meals can take some of the temptation away. I bet you'll be pleasantly surprised at the results you'll see when you incorporate the combination of eating well and working out hard. I've been working out for over 10 years - but it sometimes takes that long to realize something is missing in the equation. I pretty much looked the same after all that time! It frustrates me that I hear friends say, " but if you work out, you can eat whatever you want " Maybe for some super elite athletes - but not me! Good luck to you!! You can do this!! Again, I think you'll be really pleased with the results. Guest guest
I too craved chips and the other junk that I was trying to phase out of my diet. I ate the heck out of them on my free days too. As time went by and I continued eating healthy (NOT always perfect) I gradually craved them less and less. It is tuff at first replacing the old habits with the new, and I " cheated " many times- the two things that makes this all worth while is 1)the instant that I realized I was the " gal in the gym " that I always envied, you know the one that ALL the personal trainers and muscle guys walk by and talk to, and 2) I look better and feel better than I ever have in my entire life and NO ONE can correctly guess my age. Always remember this - one " bad " meal can't ruin a whole week or even a whole day and each day is another chance to hit your " ten " and achieve your eating goals, and (my favorite) you DO have a free day to eat chips on! > > I've finally made the decision to start eating more healthy since > > I've found that I'm working out hard but by not changing my eating > > habits I'm not seeing results. Guest guest
Hear hear hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Amen to that! Me to !!!! that is why I am doing pretty good on the program. Tomorrow is my free day and we are having 40 people( that includes children) to our house for a barbecue. I can partake in some of the yummy things people are bringing without feeling bad or people know I am on this program. I am keeping it a secret until people notice and ask me what I am doing. I will not be a piglet but I sure wont feel awful that I cannot indulge a bit. Today I went shopping with my two girls 7 and 8 and got all of their back to school stuff, great sales to I might add. I was so pleased! They were so good I took them to Mcdonalds. I had a protein bar and they had their lunch. Then I had unexpected guests for dinner. I pulled out pizzas for the kids while they swam. I had some veggies and a shake. I did have one wine spritzer. But all in all I am so pleased with how I handled today. Next summer this body is in one great looking bathing suit. Yes I am falling in love with this way of living. Congrats to your success and good luck -- In @y..., " mellied2002 " <mellied2002@y...> wrote: > AMEN, AMEN AND AMEN AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Hi, Trudy. Thea here from Maui. I have never experienced these side effects. How many mg were you on? How many mg were you on? > Have you talked to your doc about this? Hi, Thea, I am on a quarter of a 10 mg tablet a day. This is my second or third try. My doc said the swallowing difficulty might go away in a week, but I was interested in others' experiences. I just realized today after web searching that the burning arms is a lexapro side effect. I thought it was panic (it may still be.) The doc started me on this low dose because of the problems I had starting previous times.
Guest guest
I simply left my bottles out of the refrigerator with a paper towel held in place with a rubber band. I even got new scobies -- Re: Starting Out In message <20050315173621.75405.qmail@...> you wrote: > > Oops. I " bottled while too sweet " . Any suggestion on how to help > it recover from the disruption? Hi, Laurel, I have done this myself and in my case it worked very well. As long as the scoby has sugar and tea it doesn't care how far the brew has got in its fermentation process. Leave it a few days ... until you can detect the slightly acidic smell typical for KT. Try carefully with a straw and then decide whether the acidity is ok for you. I shouldn't worry about the disruption. Worse things happen at sea ;-) You'll be fine! Guest guest
I saw Bee write something within the past couple of days that dark circles are a sign of toxins. So that's a good thing if you have them because your body is responding.
Guest guest
Hi , The coconut oil can cause die off even if you are not completely on the diet - it's a natural antifungal. I would think that you would be able to tolerate grains and seeds better after you have been on the diet long enough to make candida change back into it's friendly form. However, grains in general are not healthy. a 1) Would the coconut oil be causing die off even if I'm not totally on the diet? I was taking antifungals before but never really experienced die off. Now I am having moments of severe dizziness and am wondering if this is merely the CO and vitamins. 2) Is there a possibility that this diet can create intolerances to grains and seeds etc. I understand that this should be more of a lifestyle but I am also hoping one day I will still be able to enjoy small amounts of grain and other " taboo " foods like fruit and seeds. Currently they do not bother me but I've heard stories of people being intolerant of these foods after being on the diet for a period of time. Thanks so, so much,
Guest guest
> > -Oh yes, also, what could the reason be for me having extremely dark > undereye circles/bags since starting this diet? ==>Doug is correct. Under eye circles and bags are caused by toxins, which isn't a bad thing. It indicates your body is working hard to detoxify candida toxins and other toxins throughout your body. Guest guest
I just ordered the DD hair test kid. I am getting ready to do it. I have used Selenium sulfite shampoo on my son because he has painful dandruff. We still don't know what it is. anyway, will that skew the results of the test...Great Plains said " no " , but I was curious as to the group's answer. Also, can you start out with ALA only or is it more beneficial to use DMSA starting out. We are using Vitaspectrum by Klaire for vitamins. I can split up the powder into four doses throughout the day. I also use their 5+ billion probiotic (just lactobacillus-my son son had none in his stool test) and bifidus) Do you give the vitamin at the same time as DMSA and ALA? Which book from Andy Cutler is the one to use? I think there are at least two. What is the difference or which one do I need to start? Do I understand that we are to do 10 rounds to see if this is beneficial or not? I have been reading a lot of past posts, but it is a little overwhelming, but extremely helpful. Is it necessary to treat with all the other things Dan! related to get the same benefits? Like Diflucan, Valtrex, etc or will the metals that are pulled out also pull these things out (with some die-off). I mean is this the idea that the metals make the hiding places for yeast, bacteria and viruses? Do the medicines just make the transitions easier? One more (sorry this is long) thing, I see how the group has a file for hair tests. Is that something I can post and get help with reading. I have no idea what I am looking for. Maybe that's what the hair test book is for (maybe this is the book to buy). Thanks so much and I really appreciate everyone!!!
