Guest guest
I vote for the hot tub! I actually go for aquatic therapy for my RA 3x a week. They work with the hot tub and the jets for me to help relax the muscles and the warm/hot water is a must. I have never heard of a sauna being prescribed. Other than it making you sweat to death, I am not sure of the benefits. The benefits of the water are many: Takes the pressure and weight off your joints. Gives instand relief for sever pain (although it does come back when you are out of the water) The jets massage the muscles for great pain relief. It is recommended by doctors! Good luck, Miriam > > i want a hot tub, my husband wants a sauna. anyone want to weigh-in on which works > best for RA???? >
Guest guest
I love my hot tub! It has jets that massage the back and shoulders..and the hot water helps take away the aches. I used to take hot baths. I don't think a sauna would do as well with me, but that's just my opinion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Maggie http://www.4HockeyFans.com http://www.4FloridaHockey.com MSN: Maggies1429 AOL: Maggies85 R. Guest guest
I've used the hydro therapeutic sauna and found it refreshing and it is supposed to help with RA but I opted for buying a hot tub. You can even buy hot tubs that have exercise equipment in them so while you enjoy your time in the hot tub you can also be doing resistance work........great for people who are severe with their RA pain. The hot tub is really helping me. Although I have my RA under control through naturapathic means I find the hot tub helps stimulate the adrenal gland (stress gland) while it helps ease any tension in the body. One day I will also get the sauna but it's a second choice. Dorey www.LivingWithRheumatoidArthritis.com ----- Original Message ----- From: " R. Guest guest
it sounds like when you use the sauna or hot tub it is drawing toxins out ot you and that would account for the extra pain......I'm not certain this is what's happening but it sure does sound like it. Have you ever done a detox diet? Guest guest
Hi Marcia you have to ask at the store if this tub has an ozonator or not because that makes a big difference in the chemicals and maintainence of the hot tub. We just got our hot tub 6 weeks ago and it's very easy to maintain..........with an ozonator, I just have the bromiene floaty in the tub and then once per week add a few chemicals as recommended, check the ph on the water and run a cleaning mitt over the top surface for cleaning, then once every 3 months or so drain and refill. Not so bad for maintainence.
