Guest guest
Hi all, The search feature for hasn't been working for the past few days so I thought I'd post this question. Has anyone had success using TD-DMSA? We want to start AC chelation, But I'm pretty sure my kid will majorly fight the night wakings of taking the oral DMSA. He is a very heavy sleeper and when he does wake up he won't go back to sleep and then the next day he's irritable, aggressive and very stimmy. He's already used to the TD-glutathione and I can do this while he sleeps no problem. I know that the TD route is reportedly not as effective - I just thought I'd start with that first before we make the commitment to night wakings with the oral form. DS responds well to TD glutathione (immediately wakes up and has energy) and Epsom salt baths (doesn't have night sweats when we use it) so I think his skin is able to absorb well. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again! Shiri
Guest guest
TD-DMSA is not very effective due to it's vulnerability to oxidation. Andy says that transdermal ALA is the way to go if you are doing this method. We have been doing this with our youngest son for about a year and he is making good progress. He will not take anything from an oral syringe, this is why we do it. Guest guest
You use just ALA or a combination of DMSA and ALA? ________________________________ From: TJ Werth <tj_werth@...> Sent: Fri, October 22, 2010 12:05:15 PM Subject: Re: [ ] Anyone using and getting results from TD-DMSA? Guest guest
I have to say, we did see some results with TD DMSA. We stopped and changed methods because our DAN said TD doesn't work. We used the formula from Lee Silsby and it's supposed to be a very stable formula. I'm now thinking of trying it again and maybe checking a UTM. Let us know how it goes if you do try it. Guest guest
We used Lee Silsby also. This was back in 2005 because I was too scared to chelate. My son had an initial good DDI urine test dumping mercury, and then nothing after that. In addition, it seemed we got some good gains for 1-2 rounds and then nothing at all until I added oral ALA. I did this for over a year and then went to oral only. One thing I noticed: my son's urine NEVER smelled like sulfur when I used TD-DMSA (mind you, I was using way more than the 1/2mg per lb dose). He ALWAYS has sulfury smelling urine with oral DMSA; even at the initial dose of 15mgs. The first dose on oral DMSA I was shocked! I wonder if he ever even absorbed the transdermal. pam > > > > ala > > > > > > > > [ ] Anyone using and getting results from TD-DMSA? > > > > Â > > Hi all, The search feature for hasn't been working for the past few days > > so I thought I'd post this question. Guest guest
Hi Mandy, How do you administer it to him? Do you put it in juice in a sippy cup or in a syringe? DS absolutely refuses syringes but will take almost anything in a sippy cup or teaspoon. Can you get DMSA compounded into a syrup like with anti-fungals? > > you don;t have to wake them up to give the dose, my son takes his in his > sleep > > Mandi in UK > > > In a message dated 22/10/2010 15:49:05 GMT Daylight Time, > shiriw@... writes: > > But I'm pretty sure my kid will majorly fight the night wakings of taking > the oral DMSA.
