Guest guest
I just went through this, got the crown today. I was told if I wanted the tooth pulled they'd refer me to an oral surgeon. I asked why they just couldn't pull it like I had done with wisdom teeth in the past? The bad tooth is the 2nd molar from the back, they simply said they won't do it. I had the root canal. Seriously was not bad at all. They put on a temporary cover and 3 weeks later (today) I got the crown. I'm happy to still have the tooth. Kerrie In a message dated 1/25/2010 3:34:25 P.M. I found some info on root canals on the internet and was horrified. It seems that an extraction is much safer in the long run. The problem is, I am under the impression that regular dentists do not do extractions if they can do a root canal, even if the patient wants the tooth out. I heard this is against their professional ethics or something. So the question is: how can I get the tooth extracted if my dentist refuses to do it? There are no biological dentist for about a hundred miles around. I will be very thankful for your advice! Elena
