Guest guest
Hi ,  I have been 'lurking' for a while and gathering priceless information and courage to start. My 13 yr old was diagnosed autistic and is non-verbal. We have recently seen a DAN! doctor and he was prescribed a course of Diflucan and Nystatin. The doc wants us to start MB12 shots next.  His Elemental Markers (RBCs) report from Genova Diagnostic shows the following Lead 0.033 mcg/g (ref range <= 0.048) Mercury 0.0055 mcg/g (ref range <= 0.0039) Antimony 0.003 mcg/g (ref range <= 0.002) Arsenic 0.038 mcg/g (ref range <=0.071)  Copper 0.510 (ref 0.509-0.776) Magnesium 47.6 (ref 30.1-56.5) Manganese 0.016 (ref 0.007-0.038) Potassium 2894 (ref 2220-3626) Selenium 0.66 (ref 0.25-0.76) Zinc 7.0 (7.8-13.1)  Can someone please throw more light on this ? I want to start AC chelation preferably in summer. Do I still need to do a hair analysis to decide whether he needs chelation ?  I have discussed chelation with the doc and she suggests we do transdermal. But I am interested in the AC protocol. I want to make sure that his current mineral levels are alright to start with 8mg of both ALA and DMSA (he is 98 lbs) and a 3 day on/ 4 day off schedule ? His NutrEval test report shows high need for Folic Acid, B6, Vit A, E, beta-Carotine, Copper, Iron, Magnesium, Zinc & alpha-ketoglutarate, moderate need for B12, Lipoic Acid, Manganese, Omega 3 & 6.  He shows moderately high yeast (Arabinose) and bacterial dysbiosis. Also high neurotransmitter imbalance and moderately high oxidative stress.  He is currently taking the following supplements Biotin - 15mg X 3 Oil of Oregano - 1500 mg X 2 Caprylic Acid - 2163 Mg X 2 Olive Leaf Extract - 150 mg X 2  Custom Probiotics CP1 - 2 at bedtime  Acetyle L-Carnitine - 500 mg CoQ10 - 100 mg Omega Oils - (Organic Flaxseed Oil 1000 mg, Omega 3 - 500 mg, Omega 6 - 110 mg, Omega 9 - 120 mg )  DMG 125mg DMAE 351 mg X 2 MB12 (chewable) 1000mcg  Taurine 500 mg Betaine Hydrochloride 600mg (with Pepsin, Bromelain, Papain) Turmeric 450 mg Chlorella 500 mg Folic Acid 5mg  Vit C 1000 mg with bioflavonoids X 2 Vit E 200 IU Vit A 10000 IU Vit D3 1000 IU Vit B Complex(B50)  Zinc 65mg Selenium 100mcg Calcium 600mgMagnesium 250mg       I request your comments and suggestions on the above. I have read discussions about an older child taking longer to respond and I want to get going as soon as I can. Please help.  Regards.  Deepa. Guest guest
Hi ,  Thank you for the quick response.  I am planning to get Amalgam Illness....meanwhile I'm reading on Google books and here. I will stop chlorella. Thank you. The Vit A IS from beta-carotene.....is this not right ?....kindly comment. I will probably do the hair test. Here are some of his characteristics....though not sure which are symptoms.  He has difficulty in focusing. Shows anxiety and restlessness. Cannot seem to tolerate hunger. Unpredictable Mood swings. Quickly frustrated and angry. Occassional giggling without reason. Lot of humming to himself....goes 'mmmm' for long stretches of time. Almost completely non-verbal. Low muscle tone and difficulty with fine motor activities. Sensitive to noise and touch....doesn't like loud noises and rough textures. Fidgety with his fingers. Seems edgy and irritated. Flaps his hands when agitated Sleeps well. Good appetite. Regular with BMs. Normally obedient.  He is on a GFCF diet for some years now.....which has helped with his chronic diarrhea but not much else. Thanks again. Regards.  Deepa.      > > > > Hi , > > I have been 'lurking' for a while and gathering priceless information > and courage to start. My 13 yr old was diagnosed autistic and is > non-verbal. Vitamin manufacturers sell you the beta-carotene on the assumption that the body will do what it's supposed to do and convert it. ) You want actual vitamin A such as retinol or palmitate, which are derived from fish oil: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=CL-1431 > I will probably do the hair test. It's on sale this month at www.directlabs.com. Make sure to get the " Hair Elements " , not the other hair test. Did the anti-fungals the DAN prescribed do anything for the symptoms? They should work pretty fast. > Sensitive to noise and touch....doesn't like loud noises and rough > textures. > Fidgety with his fingers. > Seems edgy and irritated. > Flaps his hands when agitated > Sleeps well. > Good appetite. > Regular with BMs. > Normally obedient. > > He is on a GFCF diet for some years now.....which has helped with his > chronic diarrhea but not much else. > Thanks again. Guest guest
& Dana, Â Thank you for your responses. Â Since he was on Diflucan on Nystatin, I didn't look at the yeast protocol which is Caprylic/GSE, OoO & Biotin. I probably need to up it some. Â We didn't see much change in beaviour after the Rx for yeast....other than irritability and food cravings.....does it mean that it was not sufficient ? Â Regards. Guest guest
> hi Dana, > How did you know your son's thyroid was not functioning? The body requires vitamin C, zinc, and thyroid hormone to properly convert carotenes. Carotene foods caused nasty problems for my son. I was already giving vitamin C and zinc. When I added thyroid support supplements, he was able to eat carotene foods without problems. > How did you correct his thyroid functiong? Selenium, tyrosine, and iodine. Guest guest
Hi,  I have just ordered the hair elements test from DirectLabs......they charged $60.....an extra 20% off the months sale value when I mentioned this group.  A copy of AI is on its way.  Meanwhile, I received the reports of another blood test.  One of the findings say : A single copy of A1298C mutation was identified. Results for C677T mutation were negative. Also TSH 0.982 uIU/mL  And Sedimentation Rate-Westergren 28 mm/hr.  Presence of Rubeola(1.52)  and Mumps(4.87) antibodies on the higher side.  Elevated IgG, Subclass 4 and IgG, Qn Serum.  We meet the doctor again in May. Will someone please explain what these mean ?  All inputs gratefully appreciated. Thanks and regards.  Deepa. > > > > > > > > Hi , > > > > I have been 'lurking' for a while and gathering priceless information > > and courage to start.
