Guest guest
I have a question which is not quite on the topic, but you might possess the precious knowledge.. OK, my dentist says I need a root canal. I found some info on root canals on the internet and was horrified. It seems that an extraction is much safer in the long run. The problem is, I am under the impression that regular dentists do not do extractions if they can do a root canal, even if the patient wants the tooth out. I heard this is against their professional ethics or something. So the question is: how can I get the tooth extracted if my dentist refuses to do it? There are no biological dentist for about a hundred miles around. I will be very thankful for your advice! Elena
Guest guest
I did some research on root canals as well because I have two and want to do chelation myself someday. The material is not amalgam. They told me it is more like rubber. What were you planning on putting in the place where your tooth is? Implants are about $5000 each. Guest guest
Elena, I had also read somewhere that root canals are not safe. Have never had one and will never. What about calling around to different dentists in your area and seeing if any do extractions. We get flyers in the mail from different dentists offering this. > > I have a question which is not quite on the topic, but you might possess the precious knowledge.. Guest guest
From what I read, root canals are not safe not because of mercury. They say, after the nerve and the blood vessels are extracted from the tooth, the microscopic tubules in the tooth, as well as the rubber the dentist puts in, are sure to harbor harmful bacteria. There is no way to sterilize the tubules, they are too small and too numerous. While the tooth has blood vessels, the white blood cells take care of the bacteria. Once the vessels are gone and the tooth is dead, the bacteria live and breed there, infect the rubber, and one can develop allergies to their toxins (I guess something like PANDAS). All that sounds quite true to me. Besides, the rubber they use is infused with salts of heavy metals, to make it visible in the X-rays. Most sites mention these salts are salts of barium; one site said it was mercury salts. (I do not know how reliable this info is, but barium in my mouth does not sound good either). I do not know if all this is 100% true, but if it is at least 70% true, I prefer dentures to teeth with root canals (if it is not front teeth). Seems cheaper too. On the other hand, if you know this is untrue, please reassure me so that I don't have an unnecessary extraction! Thanks a lot in advance! Guest guest
Man and to think I have 3 root canals and my dentist said I was due for one more-eeek. Though with the rotten dental insurance and how expensive dentists are we may all be toothless-ha. By the time I had my root canal it used up almost all my yearly money. Crazy!! I never knew about root canals so good to know. I have a mouth full of mercury fillings. I would love to have it all removed and then I heard I would have to have them take off the crowns and then replace those too. I would love to be able to afford to just go in and fall asleep and have them do my entire mouth and be all healthy in the end. Guest guest
I would think so, but I'm no expert. I was only repeating what Andy said about the stainless. Maybe someone else could comment as well? You might want to google the composition of Titanium and see if there are any heavy metals. Guest guest
Andy says titanium implants are OK to chelate with: http://onibasu.com/archives/am/195005.html Titanium _IS_ a metal. There is no " composition " : it's all titanium. Not to say that implants called " titanium implants " are 100% titanium, of course (I think this is what TJ meant). I have found limited references, but the alloys can contain Zirconium, Aluminium, Vanadium, Chromium, Copper, Nickel and Molybdenum. Not all are appropriate for surgical implants. _Most_ surgical implants are in fact 100% titanium. http://books.google.ca/books?id=UkVNHFpGhaoC & pg=PA206 & lpg=PA206 & dq=titanium+impl\ ant+alloy+composition & source=bl & ots=xHHpmjbGhX & sig=2cpJoSrKZILlUxMO3EAvgw-GuTs & h\ l=en & ei=5fxfS4a6LY3QsgOj0ZjBCw & sa=X & oi=book_result & ct=result & resnum=6 & ved=0CCQQ6\ AEwBQ#v=onepage & q=titanium%20implant%20alloy%20composition & f=false http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4040129.html TJ Werth wrote: > > > I would think so, but I'm no expert. Guest guest
Trying to catch up on the posts here after 3 days with no internet. So don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but I've been reading " Cancer Free " by (his site is beating-cancer-gently). He says there's an extremely strong correlation between root canals and cancer (breast, at least). Has to do with bacteria, I think. > > I have a question which is not quite on the topic, but you might possess the precious knowledge.. OK, my dentist says I need a root canal.
