Again, I am new to the group. This is my 2nd post. Please bear with me if I

may ask a lot of inexperienced questions. I am studying Cutler's AC

protocol very hard recently. I already ordered his book and it is on the way. I

would like to start chelation on my 10-year-old asd daughter ASAP after my

knowledge is sort of enhanced. I have read a lot of posts in this group. But I

am still confused about supplements part.

What are the supplements should I give to my daughter before and during

chelation? What are the dosages of them daily? Where am I going to buy them?

If she is having some yeast issue during the chelation, what are the anti-yeast

supplements should I give? What are the dosages daily? Where am I going to buy

them?

I know she has to protect her liver before and during the chelation. What are

the supplements of liver-protection? What are the daily dosages? Where am I

going to buy them?

What kind of preparation work I need to do before chelation? I am going to meet

her DAN doctor next Thursday and I am supposed to get all her initial testing

results (she ordered 3 or 4 different types of tests for my daughter including

hair analysis and heavy metal testing, the labs are DDI and Great Plains lab).

I think my daughter is definitely heavy metal toxic.

Thank you,

Yanping (Miranda's mom)

Read this website until you get Andy's book: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/

As for supplements, Vit C: 500-1000 mg/day, Magnesium: 400 mg/day and Zinc:

weight in pounds +20 mg/day: these should be 3 times per day. Vit E:

400IU/day, CLO should be once per day

Doses vary, it just depends on your child. You may need Milk Thistle for the

liver (we use PC).  For yeast, we use OoO, biotin/mag with food and probiotics

at night.  Other things to use for yeast are Candex, Candidase, Pau d'arco,

GSE,

etc; again it depends on your child.

Yanping,

Check out the Files section on the Group Board and find " Supplement file " . I

found this a good place to start. Also, in Andy's books alot of the amounts are

for adults so you need to keep this in mind when dosing for kids.

Which supplements your kid needs depend on what their major problems are.

Do you have a " gut " kid with lots of poop issues, low weight, yeast/bacteria

etc.? Then you'll need enzymes or a restricted diet, probably lots of

probiotics and possibly anti-fungals or anti-bacterials.

Does your kids chew on stuff? Maybe you need zinc or have parasite issues?

Does your kids have eczema or speech delay? Essential Fatty Acids (Fish Oil)

are essential.

ETC....

You can buy supplements at your local health food store, vitamin store, Whole

Foods or on-line (Iherb, Vitacost etc.). Kirkmans Lab on-line has a lot of

specialty Items and Houston Neutriceuticals has great enzymes. Generally, I

would buy one bottle locally but then do all my future shopping on-line because

I could get stuff so much cheaper there.

I found that I have to start with one thing at a time so I could monitor the

effects that each item had and make sure we didn't have any allergy problems.

Also, I always start low and ramp up the dosage of items. Sometimes, too high a

dose of something causes problems, but a lower dose or a split dose is just

fine. (Zinc is like this...if you give a kid who hasn't been getting zinc 20mg

in a dose the first time you just might get nausea and vomiting...after a while

my son can take up to 30 mg at a time with no problem...but we worked up to

that)

To support chelation, take the supplements all the time not just when you are

chelating. We use milk thistle for liver support and give both a multi-mineral

and extra zinc (my son chews everything when he is low on zinc) and magnesium

(seems to help keep my kid regular) as my kid seems to need them.

Don't be intimidated by how complicated the supplements seem. Unlike the actual

chelation where you really need to do it just right, supplemtation can be 90%

and still be just fine. For example, Andy recommends that man supplements be

given 4X/day. We just couldn't fit that into our schedule, so we gave them

3X/day and have now dropped to 2X/day with my son in school (Some supps given

2X/day and some given 1X/day). This has worked okay for us.

Thank you, .

Actually my daughter is very strong.  She eats very well.  This is why before

I never try to be on GFCF diet or chelation on her because I want her to eat

enough to be health and happy.  Of course, my concept is wrong.  Her poop is

fine.  How can I find whether she is having bacteria/yeast issue?  Please

advice.

Thank you

Yanping

P.S.  I just ordered the following items for my daughter from Kirkmanlab after

surfing the internet.  Sorry I have to copy/paste them and it has a price.

Please advice me the following items whether they are OK.  Which ones I can

Dana (who posts on this site) has a great website called danasview.net

Here is her information on yeast.

http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm

I also like DeFelice's books on Enzymes. Here is info from her website on

bacteria and yeast.

http://enzymestuff.com/conditionbacteria.htm

For many kids, bad yeast causes constipation. For my son, mild yeast will cause

what I call " emotionality. " He gets very sensitive and will get upset or cry

very easily. He also starts blinking constantly and he used to get red/rough

cheeks although that symptom has faded away. Also, when the yeast is bad during

chelation, my son has pee accidents or pees at night (he is 6). I give

probiotics and Candidase (an anti-yeast enzyme) for a few days and he'll be back

to normal. For other kids, yeast can cause attention problems or hypernesss.

It is a very individual thing.

Hope that helps.

Thank you, .

I am reading these sites and they are very helpful.

May I use GSE and Culturelle (probiotics) at the same time during the meal?  Or

Culturelle during the meal, then GSE in about 1 or 2 hours to control yeast

issue if my daughter has developed this kind of issues?
