I am having a hard time keeping track of all the information... but I do see

this girl's son is almost 6 yrs old or 6 yrs old.

Has he been vaccinated for kindergarten? If so, then no more vaccines are even

required until about age 12. If he has not been given the 6 yr boosters, then

ask her if she would be willing to run titers (bloodwork) to check for immunity.

Honestly, it isn't the grand predictor of immunity, but it is acceptable to the

school district in place of vaccinations. When I ran my son's titers at age 5,

he showed positive immunity to everything but tetanus. I think I've read

possibly 95% of kids who received all scheduled vaccines actually still carry

enough immunity at age 6 to not need boosters... but they vaccinate everyone

instead of bothering to check. Cha-Ching.

Other than the vaccination schedule, I have no advice. Her situation seems long

and complicated. I am far from an MD. But, an MRI is often a very useful tool

in diagnosing problems. It sounds like she has some major health crisis going

on and she needs a good work-up.

I would say don't reinvent the wheel and try to find all sorts of info from various places--and leave Quackwatch out of it. It's too confusing. Just get her a copy of Neil 's first book "Vaccines: Are They Really Safe And Effective?" It's short and easy to read for those on the fence who might ignore anything too long and complicated. Then let her ask questions or do her own research. I've found that when you give too much it's overwhelming and the person will turn off completely.

Just plant the seed and answer her questions.

I'm unaware of any dangers of MRI's unless she gets the dye injected, which can

be harmful to some people. CT scans are very bad, though. They cause cancer.

One CT scan is like several hundred xrays.

Don't rub it in about CTs - I've had to have two in the past month, brain and neck...

Not having any more but have to see a neurologist in a couple of weeks and he'll probably want an MRI. Had one eighteen years ago - will never have another!!

Yes, I'm so angry that I got a totally pointless CT scan last year. There was

no reason for it, and now I'm going to be worried about cancer for the rest of

my life. :-( Normally I would have refused it, but I was so brainfogged at the

time that I just went along with what the doctor told me to do.

Thank you Pam. I know it's hard to follow & it's my fault because I'm real good

at not being able to say what I mean briefly & in a nut shell as I wish I could.

Yes, he's up to date on vaccinations as she smugly told me months ago when I

last saw her until now & she parroted the talking points like she was expert on

the matter. Not even considering to listen to facts that there may be too many.

She was willing to take the word of what she's been fed instead of doing the

research herself. Until now, as she told me she has an open mind on the

vaccination matter & she knew if came to me, (the nut), I may be able to help

her in her health tragedy.

I hope someone can tell me what kind of doctor would be best to help her because

as I said, I'm afraid they may give her band aids or add to her problems more if

we don't be careful.
