Guest guest
My 5 year old dd gets bumps on her tongue. These don't look like inflamed taste buds, they look too big for that. Right now she's got two on the tip of her tongue, one on each side. They are not painful, just sort of irritating because of their size. The doctor said that she hates to put little kids on anti-virals and would like to just monitor it and see if they go away in another couple of months, but she's already had them for about four months. They occasionally go away for a little bit, but then new ones will reappear. She does get all the usual supps: vit a, b-complex, C, skipping D for the summer right now, vit E, magnesium, selenium, chromium, biotin, milk thistle, zinc. We chelate most weekends with ALA, add in DMSA every month or so for a round, (AC style of chelation). I've started her on lysine. Any other suggestions? Guest guest
I also have big sore bumps on my tongue! There's one sore-spot on the lower-tip & to the left, .5 " back. There is a big sore area on the right side, side of the tongue, towards the back. It has big bumps. It started under two main conditions. 1 I was working in a moldy environment and lost my voice every day at the end of the work-shift. 2 I was taking ALA, & EDTA without adequate mineral supplimentation. We know that ALA is a strong antioxidant. I developed a sore tongue once, after eating A LOT of cinnammon sticks, for their antioxidant properties, but this was after several days of high dosing. Another thing to note is that I taste all my supps, so, I did, a few times, open the ALA & swish it around my tongue before swallowing it. This may have been the deciding factor. According to chinese medicine, the sides of the tongue, esp. where my sore-spot is, in the back, represent the liver/gall-bladder, which concerns me some. I suspect that a sore-tongue is the body's natural way of letting a person know they have had too many antioxidants, however, I've gone many days without ALA... and has not improved much. I'm still looking for the solution. I'm so glad you wrote what you did. It helps me narrow down the search. Perhaps the antioxidants deplete some nutrient, and the right suppliment can restore it, so that I can get back to chelating. > > My 5 year old dd gets bumps on her tongue. Guest guest
Hello, My daughter had the same soreness on her tongue and in her mouth when I started her on supplements. After eliminating all of them and then re-introducing helped me narrow it down to 'BIOTIN'. Even small amount of biotin makes her inner mouth so sore and makes her lips bleed. So stopped Biotin. Now she takes one to two drops of GSE, and coconut oil, threelac for yeast. Thanks, Shruti. > > > > My 5 year old dd gets bumps on her tongue.
