I'm shocked to hear that a flare could result in miscarriage! Could that really

be true?!

Please don't misunderstand and think that I'm saying anything negative about

your

decision to stay on meds (email can easily be misinterpreted), I just had no

idea a flare

could do THAT much damage. On another note, you and I have the same fear and

the

same philosophy. I'm terrified that things will get so bad that I won't be able

to pick up

my own baby, but I guess the universe won't allow me to have one unless I can

handle it.

Good luck to you too!

Hi ,

Well, that is what the specialist told me. It does make sense, as your whole

body really goes out of whack with a flare. She also wanted to see my

bloodwork, which I will get on Monday. I would definitely recommend seeing

s specialist. I have seen all my specialists and gotten genetic counseling in

preparation, its so much more complicated when you have chronic illness.

I take Humira and it is a Category B, which means its been tested at mega

high doses in animals with no birth defects; while something like MTX is a

category D, meaning a high probability of birth defects.

You and your husband can only make that decision, but I guess I would think

about it financially as well.

I know I won't be able to do as much with my child as other mothers because

of my health. I can only hope my child will understand how much I wanted

him or her and try to be the best parent I can be.
