Guest guest
Hi: Can ALA supplement be used as a everyday vitamin to boost the immune system, or is it only for chelation purposes? Thanks Jeanne

I gave ALA every day, and the VERY END of chelation. I would not recommend giving it [or taking it] every day unless you knew you were NOT metal toxic. Guest guest
Can ALA be used as a regular supplement (antioxdant) or is it only for detoxing purposes? Our GI doc suggested it but I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to hurt my 11 yo son. If it can, how much should I give him? Does it cause yeast? Is transdermal better so it doesn't cause yeast? Thank you. Kirkman's is popular around here because you can get them in 25mg. > > I wonder with all the talk about ALA why it makes a difference and how does one >know what brand to use? >
Guest guest
No you can't and you will hurt your son. ALA can only be safely used every 4 hours at a low dose. > > > > I wonder with all the talk about ALA why it makes a difference and how does one > >know what brand to use? > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
If there is no mercury or lead load, you can take ALA. But, since you are on this list, I'm guessing your son has Autism or some other issue. Good chance he has some mercury or lead in his system. If so, you can't take ALA safely unless you respect it's half life, which is three hours. Guest guest
Sorry I meant every 3 hours. > > > > > > I wonder with all the talk about ALA why it makes a difference and how does one > > >know what brand to use? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I bought some Country Life complete vitamins from the health food store. I noticed that they have some other ingredients in them; one of them being alpha lipoic acid. Very low dose like 6. Would these be safe to give since they have the ALA. We have not started chelation on him because I don't know how and he seems unwell in some areas. Iron deficiency, gluten antibodies, IBS, but he needs to start somewhere. Hair test did not not show counting rules. Guest guest
No you can't give him that vitamin if it has ALA in it. Take pure ALA on a proper 3 hour schedule, even 6mg is enough to hurt him. > > > > > > I wonder with all the talk about ALA why it makes a difference and how does > >one > > > > >know what brand to use? > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
If your child is on the spectrum, I wouldn't use it.
