We had started on DMSA and are on only our 2nd round. On tuesday my son started wih a cold. Just a real stuffed up nose. It was running clear up until today. At first I was kind of happy he had a cold. I know that sounds crazy but my son is one of those hyper immune kids. He is NEVER sick. He has only been on antibiotic a couple of times in his 6 years of life and none at all in the last 3. If he gets a cold his lasts maybe 2days where in the rest of us it would linger longer. So when he got a cold and it lasted longer I was actually happy. Thinking maybe his immune system was acting more normally. But now we are going on day 6 and it is kind of greeninsh/yellowish discharge. Not a lot. He has not had a fever. He has a good appetite and is pretty cheerful. I would have held off on going to the doctor but the school already sent him home twice last week just for a runny nose and it was clear then. Could it be a sinus infection? I have heard that colored discharge doesnt always mean an infection and I would prefer to avoid giving antibiotics if I dont have to. Does anyone think this could be from the DMSA? Could this be the bodies way of getting rid of the crap that is in there? Or the shots? Just hoping to get some thoughts on this. Any natural remedies you can suggest? I know it is posted often but since we havent been this route before I didnt pay as much attention. Should I avoid atibiotics? Since his school was so rediculous about sending him home with just a runny nose I need to get this cleared up somehow. I appreciate any advice. I know I've made mistakes and I dont want to make anymore. Thanks so much
Guest guest
I don't consider my kids hyperimmune at all, but they have each been on antibiotics twice in their 9, 12 and 14 years. I don't think it is normal to require antibiotics regularly. The natural progression of a cold also tends to have a few days of yellowy discharge, too. If he develops a fever or facial pain then I would take him in. Even then, it isn't necessarily a bacterial infection. I hope chelation continues to go well. There is a lot of junk going around these days in the schools and I'm sorry he got sick! Try oil of oregano, Vit D3, Olive Leaf Extract and/or Vitamin C. Guest guest
Along these same lines, we have used saline irrigation for times like this, when it seems like a sinus infection can be brewing, and it works well. The one I have is called NeilMed Sinus Rinse, and it is sold in lots of places. I know there is some controversy about sinus rinses, but we use it only in this type of situation and have had good luck with it. > > > From: lizcurran70 <lizcurran70@...> > Subject: [ ] Help with Cold/Sinus infection > > Date: Sunday, 24 October, 2010, 20:33 > > > Â > > > > Hi All, > Ok Im the dumb one who let my son get 2 new shots a couple weeks ago. Guest guest
Hey, no beating yourself up. We ALL did it at one time - that's how we all ended up here. You can do your best now to heal him. For cold/sinus stuff we use GSE nasal spray, then take oral OLE in pretty high doses. > > Hi All, > Ok Im the dumb one who let my son get 2 new shots a couple weeks ago. Guest guest
I would contact a classical homeopath who has multiple years of experience with vaccine damage and get a remedy to help your child start to clear the vaccines. > > > > Hi All, > > Ok Im the dumb one who let my son get 2 new shots a couple weeks ago.
