Guest guest
First off, hello from another Lilburn resident! My son is taking Clonidine for his anxiety, but other than that is not on any prescription medication. He is mainstreamed at Mt. Park Elementary and all in all, is doing well. He has not been aggressive / violent toward me or anyone else. Merle > Hi there! New to the group, but my son was diagnosed with Asperger's > a little over 5 years ago. Guest guest
I am curious about this (saw some of the responses) because our son is exactly the same: 10, diagnosed with Asperger's at 5. Teacher thinks he is hitting puberty because he has had some extremely rough days recently, not complying etc. Appreciate any info or suggestions. At 01:14 PM 3/22/2006, merle@... wrote: >Hi there! Guest guest
10 is a little early to start puberty, especially in boys. But 10 can be a rough age any way. Missy- SAHM & Angel to Warrior !! Guest guest
Our son is 11 and in the past few months has started showing signs of going through puberty -- from what the doctor says the hormones begin changing up to 2 years prior to any physical changes -- so I believe yes, at 10 he could be having some puberty issues. Guest guest
Now that I think about it, one of the boys started having difficulties around 10-11. Missy- SAHM & Angel to Warrior !! Guest guest
we went thru the same with my older son at 8-9yo. we ended up checking out several videos on puberty from the forsyth county library. i watched them all, picked 3 that i felt were appropriate for his style of learning and gave the info needed. i then had hubby watch them so he would know what was and wasnt on them. then we set up tv/vcr in sons room one afternoon and had him watch them in private. he was a bit goofy about the idea. but now at almost 16, he admits it was a great way to do it. since it was so long ago, i dont remember any of the titles of the videos though. hope this helps > >Hi there! Guest guest
I would have to respectfully disagree with you here. My son is 14 and has been " in puberty " since at least 9. And that's per his pediatrician. There are lots of differences - alot being genetic. Sherri H. > >>Hi there! New to the group, but my son was diagnosed with Asperger's > >>a little over 5 years ago. Guest guest
Hi Everyone: I think our 10 yo son (PDD) is going through puberty. I first checked if was something physical like yeast or bacteria, got checked and he doesn't have either one. He's been very defiant and talking back. What are parents doing / giving to help their child cope with puberty? Thank you Jeanne
