Guest guest
Scratch that about the PharmaGABA. He has not had the new brand of PharmaGABA yet. > > This happened a little while ago. Guest guest
He's been on Fluconazole for a couple of weeks. He got one of his 2 daily doses about 20 minutes prior. > > This happened a little while ago. My wife walked into the room where my son was laying on a bean bag watching his favorite Elmo movie. Guest guest
This does sound like a seizure. In the book, Healing and Preventing Autism, Dr Kartzinel has a chart with symptoms pertaining to different types of seizures. You may want to take a look at it. ________________________________ From: drewbaxter69 <drewbaxter@...> Sent: Wed, March 31, 2010 6:17:04 PM Subject: [ ] Re: Andy/Others, Help! Guest guest
Just to recap for Andy... Andy, We've done 17 rounds of DMSA only and 14 rounds of DMSA/ALA. Dosage has settled at 15mg/15mg. My son has been showing some small but noticeable gains, which has encouraged us to keep going. My son is 6.4yo and weighs 44lbs. We did a round last weekend, as we've been doing every weekend. My son showed some improvements at his T-ball game on Tuesday. His teachers at school noticed some excessive clumsiness which caused him to fall 3 times at school on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he fell again 1 more time. Other than that, he's been doing fine. On Wednesday evening, my son had what I would describe as an absence seizure. My wife and I were not in the room and my wife came in the room and found my son motionless and staring into space. Upon him " coming to " , he was very lethargic and sleepy. We've not seen an event like this before ad seizures have never been an issue. Some items to note: My son had been on 120mg/day of Fluconazole suspension for about 3 weeks. This shouldn't be a big deal since we did a 30 day round back in the fall. He got a dose about 20-25 minutes before the event. My son also had swim team practice 2 hours before. We dropped our round of Diflucan after " the event " . He's been fine since. Also, we dropped Acetyl-l-carnitine(1000mg/day) and Ginkgo(60mg/day) a week and a half prior, due to hand flapping. My son still takes Vinpocetine(15mg/day). I am on the fence on whether to continue with another round this weekend. I think it's very important to continue, but I'm wondering if chelation was causing the unexpected seizure. What's your opinion about the relation? I can't help but think low body temperature and low blood sugar combined with the fluconizole and exposure to Elmo on the 50 " flatscreen combined to create the " perfect storm " and that metal mobilization was not a factor. It's only a guess though. Would you forge ahead with another round this weekend or take a week off? Your opinion is respected and appreciated. PS: We think a similar event may have happened on July 4th at age 2.5, or it could have been heat exhaustion. My son had an MRI and regular EEG a couple of years ago, just to " check it off my list " . They revealed no irregularities. > > This happened a little while ago. It sounds generally consistent with some sort of seizure. You could discuss it with a doctor or especially a neurologist and see if they want to make a diagnosis or get an EEG done. > The special ed teacher at school mentioned on Monday that he fell a few times, which they found unusual. Now I am wondering if these were seizures? Just falling down is not a common type of seizure and doesn't sound really like what you describe above, but there is infinite detail that might be missing. The most helpful thing is to get to a doc and if appropriate (which is highly likely) get an EEG and/or try an antiseizure medication. Even if they tell you the EEG is 'normal,' get a copy of the written interpretive report. > > I am very worried. > > We've done 17 rounds of AC DMSA chelation and we just finished round 14 of ALA/DMSA chelation this past weekend. Guest guest
I appreciate it Andy. We took this weekend off and I'm already working on getting an EEG set up for this week, so we can get back to chelating next weekend. > > > > This happened a little while ago.
