Guest guest
Oxlate issues could certainly be attributed to heavy metal toxicity. Can also be a hereditary thing. My son hasnt shown any lead toxicity, but we do have a family history of kidney stones going back a few generations. One thing Ive learned from the Low Oxalate Group is that ALA is very good at destroying oxalates. Not sure about DMSA or DMPS, but there was a study focusing on ALA. Guest guest
I would suggest that it is possible to do the diet and chelate. We have found both to be beneficial. In our case, once we went LOD, my son's constipation cleared up, which allowed us to start chelating. RXs, Magnesium, Vit C and doing GFCFSF werent working. I agree that in the end, chelation is the ultimate answer, but the diet can certainly be helpful. Guest guest
I came across the name of the low manganese diet that I couldn't recall the other day: The Spectrum Balance Protocol Diet It's very restrictive, but is very successful for some on the spectrum. I was overwhelmed when I heard of it and never gave it a full try. My one dd is having a great response to AC chelation, so we will continue with that, supplements, and mostly whole/organic foods.
