Guest guest
Lupe, I don't know if you're already involved in the below group, started by a friend in Chile. I don't think they do AC per se, but it might be helpful to you. Guest guest
Lupe, No courage needed to chelate; just patience. I was there myself, 5 years ago, and quickly realized how little courage was necessary. Starting with 5 mgs DMSA is good for a child that size. I don't know where to get it smaller than 25 mgs. 3-4 hours around the clock. You can do 4 hours at night. I do 3.5 hours during the day and 4 at night. I'm not sure what ACE is; do you mean vitamins A, C and E? Minerals are good. A multi without copper or iron is pretty standard. Vitamin D is nice. Keep them all with chelating. No need to keep minerals away from the DMSA. Personally, I did not find the Hair Analysis book that helpful (sorry, Andy). It might be good for your MD, though, since it is full of case history examples. Amalgam Illness covers the bases well. Too many blood tests are a waste of your time and money. I do like to have a basic blood panel before chelation. I did run a CBC/metabolic panel and zinc/coppper in the first few months after chelation started to make sure DMSA was tolerated. After those tests were clean then we fell back to annual blood tests. Even that might be too much since it has only showed a problem once... and not related to chelation. Look in to a yeast fighter or diet restrictions to help keep as much yeast overgrowth at bay. We've never had huge problems with it but i know many battle yeast constantly. I've use Grapefruit seed extract. Probiotics are a good thing to add, too. good luck to you. Guest guest
I was scared too. It will be fine. Start on the low side and go slow. We are all here for ya! Tammy [ ] finally mustered the COURAGE to chelate my daughter - some advice needed please hi all, I´ve been around this group for about a year, but yet hadn´t found the courage to start the chelation process. yesterday I met with a toxicologist in Argentina, where I'm from, who was the first dr here that ever said to me " I can't put this in writing, but if she were my daughter, I'd chelate her too " . she can't formally do this with us, but has agreed to run all the tests to ensure she's in good health during the process. this is all I was asking for. so now we will be starting DMSA, AC protocol. here are some questions: - my daughter is 3 1/2, 13 kg (30 pounds aprox). should I start with 4/5 mg DMSA ? - anyone know where I can get DMSA at lower doses / without medical prescription ? - basic supps to go with chelations are ACE and minerals, right ? am I ok with a multi that contains them ? Guest guest
why on the fence, Heidi? Wondering if she really needs it or not wanting to make things any worse? Fear of the unknown can be paralyzing! I remember that first TD-DMSA dose... I stood by his bedside expecting him to stop breathing or something. Why I was so relaxed about giving him vaccinations or antibiotics or OTC medicines, and so scared about using a well studied, long approved chelator is beyond me. It gets a lot easier once you start. Guest guest
Olivia, thank you, yes I am ! they are wonderful. but they mostly have the same problem I have, which is that latin america has very few professionals who can help us. I am lucky to speak english so that I can benefit from this group as well, as you are all a lot more knowledgeable on chelation. you should see the faces of the doctor's I've seen. a top neuro even said that anyone who offered to help me chelate my daughter could be considered a criminal. talk about scary... > > > > hi all, > > I´ve been around this group for about a year, but yet hadn´t found the courage to start the chelation process. yesterday I met with a toxicologist in Argentina, where I'm from, who was the first dr here that ever said to me " I can't put this in writing, but if she were my daughter, I'd chelate her too " . she can't formally do this with us, but has agreed to run all the tests to ensure she's in good health during the process. this is all I was asking for. > > so now we will be starting DMSA, AC protocol. here are some questions: > > - my daughter is 3 1/2, 13 kg (30 pounds aprox). should I start with 4/5 mg DMSA ? > > - anyone know where I can get DMSA at lower doses / without medical prescription ? > > - basic supps to go with chelations are ACE and minerals, right ? am I ok with a multi that contains them ? Guest guest
Pam, thanks so much for the advice. it is really reassuring ! there is such a myth that chelation might harm a child permanently. it's difficult to shake. especially when doctors keep telling you you will regret doing it ! I took note of the tests to get sure we get them done before we start, to get a baseline. Guest guest
Heidi, not only did I have to convince myself, I also had to convince others to let me chelate my daughter. my family is very supportive but not very knowledgeable on biomed and the fear factor is huge. this toxicologist's support was the real deal for us, and I'm so grateful for it. so often since my DD's diagnosis have I felt the hand of God moving things around for us. I have learnt to trust myself and my instincts like never before, as I truly think it's God's way of letting me know what to do. all the very best for you too. Guest guest
Pam, I'm personally scared of making things worse. there are horror stories out there, and until you try if for yourself successfully, it's hard to know who to believe ! the toxicologist we saw said something similar to what you just said. when she explained how DMSA can be hard on some organs, she added.....and then, so can ibuprofen. meaning we are just scared of the unknown. > > > > Hi Lupe, > > > > I just want to thank you for your post, I have been sitting on the fence with chelation too. Guest guest
I can only imagine how difficult it is for you all. I lived in Argentina as a teenager for a year and LOVE your country. But what difficulties it has faced! I wish you the best - this group is wonderful, many knowledgeable people here. Have you checked out the files section yet? Sorry I haven't checked out this entire thread. There's a document on getting started that is very helpful. It outlines only the basic supps you need for chelation support. Buena suerte, Olivia > > > > > > hi all, > > > I´ve been around this group for about a year, but yet hadn´t found the courage to start the chelation process. yesterday I met with a toxicologist in Argentina, where I'm from, who was the first dr here that ever said to me " I can't put this in writing, but if she were my daughter, I'd chelate her too " . she can't formally do this with us, but has agreed to run all the tests to ensure she's in good health during the process. this is all I was asking for. > > > so now we will be starting DMSA, AC protocol. here are some questions: > > > - my daughter is 3 1/2, 13 kg (30 pounds aprox). should I start with 4/5 mg DMSA ? > > > - anyone know where I can get DMSA at lower doses / without medical prescription ? > > > - basic supps to go with chelations are ACE and minerals, right ? am I ok with a multi that contains them ?
