Guest guest
Trying the time released melatonin for the first time. I gave it at 9:30PM, and it is 11:00PM with no sign of getting tired. I think someone mentioned that they may have giving the regular melatonin first and to get their child really tired, followed by the time released. Do I have this right? Guest guest
You can try to do that, but seems like amount is too small, for my 6 yo, 46 lb kid i give him 2.5 mg, and for 3 yo about 0.5 to 1 mg, so just try to increase dose slowly, myself, i may will take it sometimes also, about  3 mg, less then that does nothing to me, im about 120 lb. If the dose is right it will take about 30 min or less to go to sleep. Good luck Natalia From: wilma1866@... <wilma1866@...> Subject: [ ] Melatonin/Time Released Date: Monday, April 5, 2010, 11:59 PM  Trying the time released melatonin for the first time. Guest guest
You should take the lowest dose possible that works. My 63lb son has never taken more than 1mg (not time released). He had trouble falling asleep, not staying asleep, and this melatonin dose worked wonders within 30 minutes... unless he was hyped up on sugar. I cannot take it at all. Melatonin makes me wake up agitated in the middle of the night. I took 1mg and I weigh 120, too. I dont think it depends much on the weight of the person, but the biological need.
