Guest guest
We have done 7 rounds of DMSA only (12.5 mg) for the past 7 w/ends. We have seen improvements in language, cognition, motor skills and socialization but we know that there is a long way to go still. We will add ALA (5 mg) to the DMSA for tomorrow's round and will dose every 3 hrs/4 hrs for day/night. A few questions: - can we just mix both the DMSA and the ALA to the same apple puree? - can anyone tell us what specific gains they saw when adding ALA? I understand that we may see some regression during the rounds. - if he tolerates 5mg of ALA well can we increase it to 12.5 mg for the following round? Is this too fast? - I know the ratio of DMSA/ALA has to be 1:2 or 2:1 so this means we will also increase the DMSA. We would like to increase it to 25 mg DMSA and 12.5mg ALA. Any problems with this? How do you decide whether to give more DMSA or more ALA? Is this just based on how these are tolerated? Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. It has been invaluable to my son's progress. Guest guest
You can mix the ALA in with the DMSA. You can pre-mix it, just don't leave it out for too long. Make sure you shake it up a little before the dose, it tends to settle. DMSA is suceptible to oxidation. I currently mix the dmsa in juice. Is it o.k. to mix the dmsa and the ALA in the same juice/cup or do they have to be given separately? Also, does either of them have to be refrigerated right up until you give it or can I prepare and have the dosages on my nightstand for the night dosages? Thanks in advance. Guest guest
Do you need to use DMSA before starting the ALA. Guest guest
No. Some find that the combination works better than just using one or the other, though (I did). > > > From: TJ Werth <tj_werth@...> > Subject: Re: [ ] Adding ALA > > Date: Monday, August 23, 2010, 11:11 AM > > > Â > > > > You can mix the ALA in with the DMSA. Guest guest
Only if you had recent exposure, like amalgam removal or vaccinations.
