Hi, I am going to a Lyme Disease Specialist and just had tests done for Lyme

Disease.

The doctor is an Infectious Disease Specialist. I also heard there are doctors

called Lyme Literate Doctors that are supposed to be great as well. The tests

are in process now and it will take 5 weeks to get the results.

I was part negative and positive on my regular doctor's tests so it was

inconclusive. This doctor is doing far more advanced tests! (I will try to post

them if I can remember)

This doctor also said that although the bloodwork helps, the symptoms are what

" seals the deal " . He explained that some people are negative on all blood work

but he can tell by the symptoms they have Lyme, also some people have positive

blood work and don't have Lyme disease.

It sounds like a very tough disease to diagnose. I have Lupus also and he said I

don't have the classic Lyme symptoms and that Lupus, being autoimmune can mess

with creating random autoantibodies....

you/your child had it? Was it through the typical Lyme titres, or is there a

more sensitive test? Also, what are you using to treat it? Is it long-term

antibioitics?
