My Primary doc thinks its allergy related but I think I am now prone to them. What is everyone else's experience? for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Marcia Hi everyone, I came down with my Annual 'Post-Labor Day Bronchitis' and have been flaring the whole time, am on Cipro and still taking Enbel, although I may skip a dose this week or at least wait until I see my Rheumy this coming Friday and see what he thinks. So, I am not sure the Enbrel works - I started it about 9 weeks ago and still had MTX in my system for a month of that time (Rheumy said the MTX stays in the system for a while) and am still on Prednisone. I had to up the Prednisone to 15 mgs, which I what I was taking when I was first diagnosed with RA and that barely touched the flares in my wrists. So, apparently I am going to flare every time I get an infection or a virus, and with my history, which is all winter long. Fun 'eh? Rheumy wanted to get me off of Prednisone, which doesn't seem likely, but if I am having problems while on Enbrel, he may have to leave me on Prednisone. Especially if I am going to flare when I am ill, which was most of the time before getting RA. My attitude is to "wait and see" and try to get back down to 5 mg of Prednisone. My General Practitioner (whom I have been seeing since I was 16 years old) was upset when he read the "black box warning" with the Enbrel about the Sepsis. He said he was sorry that he read it. It seems to me that Enbrel is more dangerous than Prednisone. I will ask Rheumy what to do when I get really sick and GP said to come to him when I get sick. My employer is not sympathetic (more like pathetic) with this illness and hates giving time off, even though I have 80+ vacation hours. Thanks everyone about the messages relating to warm water pools. I didn't realize that all pools weren't warm. Should I get motivated to get in one, I will do research first!
