Guest guest
No truth at all that statement. I believe Shore (a very successful famous autistic person) was 12 when he acquired language. If therapist have a lot of can't or never statements I usually take that as a sign of the therapist's own incompetence. http://aydansrecovery.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html From: Pamela H <phaselow@...> Subject: [ ] speech after age 5 Date: Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 6:22 AM  There is NO TRUTH behind this claim. I'm sure it is more difficult to gain language after a certain age, but to say 'never' is just a sign of an SLP who is giving up. I'm sure there are many parents who will tell you their story of language recovery after age 5... or those who are in the process of gaining language in an older child. Chelate. Guest guest
Contradicts our personal experience and numerous experiences I have read online or heard directly from parents. Little or no speech until 6-7 yrs. At 14 he is chatterbox. Vitamin B-12 w Folinic from Kirkmans elicited full sentences with a week at about 7yrs. Probably the most interesting thing his language has taught us is that he recalls MORE THAN US about his childhood. When and where we went, Teachers names, schools etc. Very incredible revelations that he was taking in 110%, but giving out 0%. GFCF was our first step. Enzymes for Gluten and Casein have been miracles. > > > > Hello, > > > > I have heard from lot of people especially speech therapist that autistic > > child with no or little language cannot be recovered after the age of 5 years. > > They say may what we do he can not attain full speech. Guest guest
My son is almost 8 now and practically has the same speech as a typical child his age. He had no real speech till almost 6. Detox and chelation made the biggest impact to change that. Guest guest
There is just 5% truth in this claim. Remaining 95% is on your side. My child didn't utter a word until 3. She started talking only after starting Chelation. Between 3 and 5 also, her speech was not clear at all. Only after 5, her words are understandable to others. Every passing day we see some kind of improvement, no matter how small it is. Now she is 8 and speaks small sentenses. Try your best with biomedical, behavioral and social. Your child will surprise his speech therapist for sure. Good luck, Ragha > > Hello, > > I have heard from lot of people especially speech therapist that autistic > child with no or little language cannot be recovered after the age of 5 years. > They say may what we do he can not attain full speech.
