Guest guest
Now if like me, you don't leave the house until you put on some lipstick then consider this – many name brand lipsticks, glosses and lip liners do contain traces of wheat bran, wheat germ oil and barley. Most of the large make-up corporations you link you in this blog (Maybelline, Clinique and Avon) put horrible horrible cancer-causing, endocrine-disrupting crap in their stuff. The " gluten-free " moniker in this case is just jumping on the latest faddish band-wagon to sell you more crap. Most of us who have the slightest desire to keep themselves healthy will not use cosmetic products. Those who persist can use this database from Environmental Working Group to figure out the mile-long list of hazardous chemicals in the ingredient list: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ (It's also useful for shampoos, soaps, lotions, etc...) >
Guest guest
I remember reading a post that said many of the major cosmetic companies put LEAD in their lipstick. After my recent breast cancer episode, I ditched all my cosmetics from the standard companies, and have been gradually getting some from: Natural Solutions (they'll send samples for a very small charge for you to try first before you buy full sizes): http://bewellstaywell.com/cosmetics.htm I've been totally pleased with their products. I have a few of their colored lip glosses and they're BETTER than the ones from standard companies. Another line I may try some from, uses fruit extracts in theirs: http://www.100percentpure.com/fruitpigments_concealer.html Both of these companies list all of the ingredients contained in every product they carry. I feel I don't have to compromise my health when I want to wear a little make-up when I go out. > > > > Now if like me, you don't leave the house until you put on some > > lipstick then consider this – many name brand lipsticks, glosses and > > lip liners do contain traces of wheat bran, wheat germ oil and barley. > > Read more: http://www.jensglutenfreeblog.com/gluten-free-cosmetics/don > > <http://www.jensglutenfreeblog.com/gluten-free-cosmetics/don>'t-give-up-the-glam\ -–-gluten-free-lipstick-to-the-rescue/ > > > " Gluten-free cosmetics " does NOT mean harmless. > > Most of the large make-up corporations you link you in this blog > (Maybelline, Clinique and Avon) put horrible horrible cancer-causing, > endocrine-disrupting crap in their stuff.
