Guest guest
Well, unless you're dealing with someone you WANT to run off. Like my brother ... I always use Garlic when my brother is around. LOL (Gotta use whatever card you have on hand to play, when the situation is right.) ;-) [ ] Re: Nystatin ==>... Oil of oregano is just as good as raw garlic and clove oil. Welcome to our group. If you have any candida overgrowth it means your immune system is depressed. The only way to cure it is by building up your immune system with diet plus supplements. Therefore candida cannot be cured by simply " killing it off " with some like nystatin, however doctors do not believe " the body can heal itself " naturally, and they do not understand nutrition. They are only trained to perscribe drugs which are toxic to the body. However nystatin is a unique drug because it does not get absorbed into the body past the digestive system. Yes, nystatin is safe for pregnancy and while breastfeeding, but the antibiotics will depress your immune system even more, and they " make " candida grow because they wipe out the good bacteria in the digestive tract. You need to read the information emailed to you when you joined, called " Candida Basics by Bee " to understand how candida works in the body and why you need to build up your immune system. Here's other references on my website: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2.php Even though you haven't felt well for 2 months, IF you have been consuming the standard modern-day diet, and have been consuming " bad " fats, white flour products, improperly prepared grains, soy products, sugars, etc. you wouldn't have been perfectly healthy prior to that. Most people nowadays have had a depressed immune system since before they were born. After you read please get back to us with questions and concerns. We are here to help you get healthy the natural way. The best to you, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Everyone, That is very interesting about the Nystatin. I just met someone at work who had a severe case of candida and he used the powder form of Nystatin to cure it. He swears by it. I have been trying to buy it here in Mexico but I am a little nervous about it. I have been feeling good with the fivelac and I am not sure if I want to take the risk to change things. I did just read on a website that it is not absorbed in the stomach and that it is good for thrush only???? Does anybody have any experience with it? It supposively is an antibiotic, and I thought that antibiotics were bad for Candida? Mandy Mandy S <michelle_s18@...> wrote: Jen, Nystatin is suppose to be very safe, but it's slow. A dr. on another board I post on who has treated over 1,000 cases of candida says it can take 3-6 months of using 1/4 teaspoon of PURE POWDER (not the tablet form) four times per day AND it has to be taken on an empty stomach. I have a bottle in my fridge but haven't used it yet. Safe to use 24 drops of iodine daily for 3-4 months to treat candida? Dear everyone, I am new to the group, and have been battling systematic candida for the past 2 months, using cream of tartar and iodine. I found 24 daily drops (6 drops, 4x a day) of iodine quite effective but just wondering is it safe to take idoine (24 daily drops) for long term, meaning 3-4 months? BTW, I also have lyme disease and fibromyaliga caused by mycoplasma fermatans for 6 years on top of candida. Please advise. Thanks. Guest guest
Mandy, Nystatin only works from you mouth, throat, to your gut. It's not absorbed into your system, which has it's pros and cons. The beneficial part of Nystatin is that it doesn't kill ANY probiotics, it just kills candida. The big con is that it tastes HORRIBLE (and it will not kill systemic yeast). The way that it best kills the yeast is if you mix the powder in a glass of purified water and then swish it in your mouth (attacking the thrush) then swallowing it. I've done that a few times and almost threw up! I tried putting it in a capsule and it went down fine, but that doesn't address the thrush problem. Often times, Doctors will prescribe the suspended solution formula, but that has glucose in it, so the nystatin doesn't work. Same with the pill form. From what I've read though, Nystatin is VERY safe and oddly it's over-the-counter in EVERY country except the US. Pharmaceticals (like Diflucan) are big business here and Nystatin is very cheap, meaning very little profit. Re: Nystatin Hi Everyone, That is very interesting about the Nystatin. Guest guest
Good luck, Mandy. If you find it hideous (lol!) try putting 1/8 (and work up to 1/4) teaspoon in a veggie cap and take it on an empty stomach. It is such gross stuff! I wonder if Nystatin is safe to take it for a ,long time. Actually it didn't helped me in the past but probably I didn't took it long enough. My doc told me that it don't help for all type of yeast infection. I had Candida Albacan infection. Do you know if Nystatin can help with it? I would appreciate you advice. Guest guest
Bobby, you've overlooked the fact that Nystatin results in a huge liver load, through toxins released by the die-off of gut organisms, in people with dysbiosis. Die-off toxins is the source of most of the symptoms people experience with the various antifungals and antimicrobials IMO, but sure, some of them impose direct liver load too. I think you've seen some of those trained professionals you refer to, nonetheless you're on this list to get some of this valuable information and hopefully save yourself. Diffulcian is the anitfungal med that is hard on the Liver cause it travels thru the bloodstream.I would recommed that we all get our info from a trained professional in this area. > >

Guest guest
Hello, My son has been taking Nystatin for almost 4 months(500,000u)twice a day. At first it helped many of the yeasty behaviors disappeared. It's been a week since he's getting very silly again. Could it be that the Nystatin stopped helping? Do I need to add other yeast supplements? We are following organic GFCF/ anti-yeast diet. Any input will be appreciated. Also has anyone experienced increased echolalia with Nystatin? Guest guest
Yes on both questions. When I added threelac I saw more die off. I was told this isn't CF, but for us it was worth it! Guest guest
Please expand on antifungals kicking up reflux. My boy has reflux which causes aggression. When I treat it he gets constipation which causes head banging. It's a difficult balance. I never heard about antifungals kicking up reflux - I would like to hear more about what happens and what you have tried. He took diflucan - 1 pill only - right when everything got so much worse for us. We have struggled for 3 years. ALA 25mg every 3 hrs every other weekend is definitely reducing symptoms and rage has come down in intensity already after 4 rounds. Please tell me more about reflux/antifunals. Guest guest
I just wanted to mention, my nt food allergy guy would only get a little reflux if food intolerances. Have you had food allergy testing? Try and figure out, keep a food journal and supplement journal to figure it out. Tammy [ ] Re: Nystatin Please expand on antifungals kicking up reflux. Guest guest
We have never tried Nystatin or diflucan and I cant say much about the reflux. My son did not tollerate GSE well either. We started taking a supplement called CDX wich has worked wonders for yeast in our house. It is made up of protease and cellulase. I have never seen this particular product mentioned on any of my groups but I do believe it is similar to to Candex wich people have had a lot of success with in treating yeast. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I keep a food /supplement /behavior journal. I have charted everything in Excel and done pivot tables. I have never found any correlation between behavior and food, behavior and supplement, or behavior and time since last meal. Lately his reflux comes at 4am and at 8-9am and he gets aggressive. It is WAY less since we have done 4 rounds of chelation. Maybe it's just the mercury? I have decided to remove every supplement and add them back one at a time - again- since I read the below post about antifungals causing reflux. He does take a lot, maybe it's the quantity instead of any one particular thing? Perhaps I am giving too many.
