Guest guest
I just uploaded two files to share with this group from my own regarding information on Challenge testing and Transdermal chelation. These are usually the first questions for new members because they are so common among DAN doctors and some other physicians. Parents really to know more before consenting to either of these things. I can't stress enough the potential dangers of Challenge testing with DMSA or DMPS. I have spoken to many adults who got pretty sick from doing this. As well as parents who report horrible regressions. This is due to the high dose that is used and given one time. There is a way to satisfy the doctors need to see a Challenge test even though the information isn't really diagnostically significant. You can collect the urine sample at the end of a low frequent dose Andy Cutler round. This is often enough to show metals are coming out to satisfy the doctor and insurance company in prescribing the dmsa. Transdermal chelation: Andy and Jaquelyn McCandless have both said that dmsa and dmps is not stable in transdermal solution. It oxidizes to quickly. Only ALA could be used in a transdermal cream. The link to their posts stating this is in the Transdermal document I uploaded. When in doubt...all new parents should search their questions on the archives on Onibasu.com. Andy has at one time answered just about all of them. Hope this helps! Jan

A urine sample _may_ or _may not_ show significant levels of metals at the end of a Cutler round. If you are trying to prove something (mostly to yourself), then it is NOT worth the risk of a false negative, which will have all sorts of drastic health consequences. So, per Andy: " When in doubt " , chelate. Then observe symptoms. If nothing happens after several rounds, move on. > > > Transdermal chelation: Andy and Jaquelyn McCandless have both said > that dmsa and dmps is not stable in transdermal solution.
